About the info
= = = = = = = =
Some features are really important to explain.
Pavel already posted a reminder here about Ctrl-Click on links in
documents.

I would want to go further pushing the slidecast with a narrator showing
the features and not just a text list that is very unimaginative for the
random user.

So can we get some screenshots of this list and put it on an impress
presentation?

If the lay out of the Wiki is better, maybe it is also possible to mark
those really-important-for-all-users issues?

My point, the wiki is not design for graphic multimedia oriented content
as opposed to the Drawing tools, object management of Impress.

Hints for features that need extra highlight, or about text/explanation
that can be improved, very much appreciated!

We do need a good voice to give the tour of the features. I might do a
demo and then the audio can be 'ported' to a softer voice.

Kindest regards,
Cor

I answered you this morning on the release list, but strangely when I
hit the reply button on some lists, this is my OOo alias adress that is
selected and of course get moderated. (second strange thing is that
Thunderbird didn't stock this sent message in the send directory :(

Indeed, I didn't find it in my mailbox.

However... Thanks for the great work you've made :-)

Agree. But I'm not used working with Wiki's. And looking at my agenda
and the bank account, it's not likely that I will invest in that before
OOo 3.1 :-)

However, specific suggestions that I can easy follow up: welcome!

I spoke about AutoSum in the other mail. We could also add a link to
some blogs that are describing and illustrating the features (like
Thomas Benisch blog for AutoSum
http://blogs.sun.com/GullFOSS/entry/improving_calc_usability_autosum)
It could help a lot users to figure out how it works.

Good idea. Thanks.

I've not gone through the all list yet, but will do and will give you
feedback. Also, I think we should begin to work on the list much sooner
because trainers and authors need it for their material.

Agree.
I hope the effort from several people can be combined (see the
[EMAIL PROTECTED] mail).

Thanks again to you and your community for the huge work.

Thank you. And you know form experience how much work it is ;-)

Kindest Regards,
Cor

[Marketing] Info new release 2.3

2007-09-04 Thread Cor Nouws

Hi *,

Since OOo 2.3 is expected next week, it is time to prepare the news
about new features.

Technical
= = = = =
With help from some people at the Netherlands-mailinglist, I've prepared
info for the wiki:

http://wiki.services.openoffice.org/wiki/New_Features_2.3#Full_list
(We made the Dutch and English version side by side and I used some nice
OOoBasic to split.)

Well, that looks rather 'not so nice', IMHO. But since I'm not yet
Wiki-adict (that is about what's needed to be able to work with it, IMO
:-) ) *I'll be happy to receive advice from others*.

Also, the odt, that I used, is available. I uses ODT2WIKI export filter,
with some little changes afterwards.

Furthermore, I'll add info on another Wiki page about steps involved to
gather all this. And via [EMAIL PROTECTED] I hope for more useful tips for
next times.

Some features are really important to explain.
