The term "free" has traditionally been used as the short form of "free of charge", and people have mistakenly assumed it to instead be a description. Please correct me if I'm wrong, but I'd also never heard the term "for free" used prior to the mid-1980s (I was born in the 60s). There was and is discussion about "free", but it was decided that with a selection of banners, you can go with what works for you and your web site. They still have the same feel or theme, just with different messages. Feel free to look up these previous discussions, or please start a new thread to collate slogans for the new banners. You will see in the Art Project Banners gallery, that many of the banners are asking for a slogan. Yes, I know this is a small point and one way or the other, only <0.01% of people would know the answer to this, but since there's a chance of it being incorrect, I think we should fix it. The banners were created by different people after much discussion about slogans. I expect there will more added to the Art Project galleries using design elements from the new splash screen and OOo icon sets.
