Since this would be the third year we do this, I also suggest to do some of
the previous material we created in the past like the DFD mini-site on the
wiki:
http://wiki.services.openoffice.org/wiki/Dfd

Some ToDo could be localized this mini-site:

Hi Alexandro,
thanks for sharing.

As the DFD (http://documentfreedom.org/2011/index.en.html) is an event
that primarily addresses communities on localtion, I would ask the NLCs
(I'm cross-posting) to also share their activities and subsequently we
shall work on coordinating these efforts.

Flash is not a format, is a toolkit/VM which you can build
applications, in those apps there is a video player, but most people
confuse flash with a file format because they had a native
encapsulated flv, but most apps are actually swf. I agree that youtube
contribute to distor the idea of what flash is.

PDF is more like a document file, but I wouldnt think of it as
IDE/Toolkit development stack.

Anyway digressing, on slidecast the slides get synced on a flash app
which show the slidetrail and the wavelenght with transition stops.

How do the slides get synced with voiceover?

Ideally, it'd be helpful to skip flash and use a safe format / free

However I was thinking more of a Slidecast (from slideshare) you just

AFAIK, Impress cannot export to animated svg, s3 or ogg. But, at least
on X11, it is easy to use FFMPEG to capture screen activity as Theora
and then follow up with a video editor to add captions and voice over.
Any decent system has X11 or the option for it. It's an extra on the OS
X install CD, for example.

Do we have instructions on how to make videos using open formats on
YouTube? Flash wasn't really the problem it has become until YouTube
started pushing it. It's a self-reinforcing problem that they only had
to kickstart.

The same kickstart can be done for other sites which may be more
