Dear Uwe,

We would like to publish our news on openoffice.org and to make 2-weeks
prepayment.
Let me know if we can start with 1-day trial test.

GOSH, shame on me and I thought I had a good memory. :'(

In any case the plugin works much better for old Word 2003
 than for 2007.

I also don't understand why the MS supported filter is much
worse than yours, other than it is a deliberate decision by
 MS

RTF: so does Word really uses RTF internally? Why is then
the OO import export filter for RTF worse than the DOC
 filter?

 regards

 Uwe

Well, and actually I am the developer of the ODF Plugin ;)

I just tested and have the feeling that the plugin is as
good or bad as the OO doc import export filters is this
 correct?

It's using OOo's filters, so it's almost the same.

Excel/PowerPoint are 100% the same (the filter, but not necessarily the
rendering that Excel and PowerPoint do).

Word can be a little bit different, because Word's filter API is based
on RTF, so there is one more conversion involved.
And again, of course Word had different rendering algorithms...

This is probably a more concrete explanation than the shorts explanation
that I gave you 3 years ago via comments in my blog ;)

Thanks the good news is that this filter is BETTER than the
 one found in
 http://odf-converter.sourceforge.net/download.html

 O:-)

However the filter is not better, than the OO doc import and
 export filters!
 :'(
