Great timing :) I've been struggling quite long to make an IT for MNG-7110 based on what maven-integration already provides. Current conclusion: if the parent is part of the reactor, I cannot reproduce it. If the parent is pre-installed, extension behaves different and I can reproduce the issue (and confirm the fix).
This is not what I expected, but again shows there are some edge cases where they likely behave incorrect.
