I moved the issue to the right place, IMHO. I absolutely agree that TOC
generation is important, but this feature has *not* been removed. It isn't
broken. Something else was broken. I have made some proposals in
DOXIASITETOOLS-320 how to move this forward.

MSKINS-229

2023-11-26 Thread Konrad Windszus
You once moved the issue from DOXIA-696 to MSINS-229:

Michael Osipov
 made
changes - 21/Jun/23 22:25
Fix Version/s wontfix-candidate [ 12351684 ]
Fix Version/s wontfix-candidate [ 12351318 ]
Key DOXIA-696
MSKINS-229
Project Maven Doxia [ 12317230 ]Maven Skins [ 12317926 ]

Reraising another issue won’t make sense to me.
The issue is clear. Feel free to move it around (again) to another project. It
is a regression from a user’s perspective because TOCs worked with 1.x and do
no longer with 2.x. For me supporting generating a TOC is crucial and we
shouldn’t drop this support in 2.x therefore just considering this invalid
feels wrong to me.

IMHO this requires a fix in Doxia not in Fluido (because it has to work in a
skin-agnostic way) but in the end what really matters is that the TOC macro
works at all (at least with Fluido, no matter who is generating the anchors).

Reading all the comments in the ticket it is not really clear where this is
supposed to be fixed.
@Michael can you clarify in the comments?

I am inclined to just revert
https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/DOXIASITETOOLS-266…
Would be great to make some progress here,

We suffer from this on our Maven Site currently (e.g. in
https://maven.apache.org/guides/introduction/introduction-to-profiles.html
where the TOC is broken) so a fix for this is quite urgent to me.

Unfortunately, it took a look because it is a stack of components, then testing
all reporting plugins. I hope that at most two will follow before GA.

Plase don't hijack votes. Exec has nothing to do with this issue. I
still consider MSKINS-229 as invalid. I am not saying that Doxia should
not generate ID by default, but not not in MSKINS. Raise the
approapriate JIRA issues and we can discuss an acceptable solutions for
everyone.

For me the blocker for Maven Site 2.x final and related plugins is mostly
https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/MSKINS-229.
