> EasyMock provides Mock Objects for interfaces in JUnit tests by generating
> them on the fly using Java's proxy mechanism. Due to EasyMock's unique style

> Note:
> There is a Java 1.3 and a Java 1.5 distribution for this artifact, thus both

2006-02-28 Thread Carlos Sanchez (JIRA)

That's wrong. What can happen is that different projects will use different

version

> The dependencyManagement does not work for transient dependencies. The
> specified version is ignored.
> Use case:
> Main POM defines commons-digester-1.6 and commons-beanutils-1.7.0, A-SNAPSHOT
> and B-SNAPSHOT
> Project A is child of Main and depends directly on commons-beanutils (version
> inherited from Main)
> Project B is child of Main and depends directly on commons-digester (version
> inherited from Main)
> Project C is child of Main and depends directly on A & B (versions inherited
> from Main)
> A is compiled and tests are run using commons-beanutils-1.7.0
> B is compiled and tests are run using commons-digester-1.6 and
> commons-beanutils-1.6, since digester is dependend on this
> C is compiled and tests are run using commons-beanutils-1.7.0
> Integration tests of B did not verify, that B is behaving as expected in this
> scenario. B might fail with 1.7.0 and it is not even recognized.
> If I add beanutils also as direct dependency to B, it works fine, but then
> are transitive dependency useless. It should be possible to define at least
> in the dependencyManagement, that the versions of transient dependencies also
> defined in the dependencyManagement have priority.

Summary: Timeouts in POM downloads cause the build to fail (was:
Dependencies without POMs cause intermittent failures)

> We have a number of jars in our repository that don't have POMs, e.g.
> third-party libraries, etc. Maven happily downloads the jar anyway, and
> issues a warning that there's no POM - except, sometimes, it just fails
> instead. See the build log below. If I were to rerun Maven again, it might
> fail on a different jar, or it might succeed. I can't seem to find any rhyme
> or reason to it...
> I agree that a missing POM merits a warning, but if the jar is there, it
> shouldn't be failing the build!

[jira] Commented: (MNG-1797) Dependency excludes apply to every subsequent dependency, not just the one it is declared under.

Carlos Sanchez commented on MNG-1797:

I don't think we should fix this until we have global exclusions MNG-1977,
it'll hurt more than help.

> If you specify ANY dependency excludes, all dependencies after that one in
> the pom will also exclude what you specified. They appear to be cumulative
> on every dependency in that they bleed over into sibling dependencies.
> It's easy to test if you add an exclusion to a random dependency. This
> exclusion should exclude a required transitive dependency that is included by
> a dependency lower in the list. You will find that the dependency lower in
> the list no longer includes the required dependency because it is using the
> filter you declared in the other dependency.

IsolatedClassloader.getResources returns duplicated results
---

 Key: MSUREFIRE-74
 URL: http://jira.codehaus.org/browse/MSUREFIRE-74
 Project: Maven 2.x Surefire Plugin
Type: Bug

Versions: 2.2
Reporter: Carlos Sanchez
 Fix For: 2.2

When calling classLoader.getResources("org/springframework/core/io") every
result is twice in the resulting enumeration
It doesn't happen in 2.1.3

It may have to do with the fact that classes and test-classes are twice in the
classpath output

> Only release repositories are queried for version-unscoped plugins.
> Deploy a plugin (say x-maven-plugin, version 1-SNAPSHOT) to a snapshot
> repository via mvn -P performRelease deploy.
> clear local repository so client has no copy of the snapshot.
> Build a project that tries to use the x-maven-plugin but does not specify the
> plugin's version.
> Results in client searching release respository only, does not query the
> snapshot repository or attempt to merge the metadata in any way.
> Is this as designed?

> commons-attributes-compiler-2.1.pom has the following dependency:
>
> java
> tools
> 1.4
> ${java.home}/../lib/tools.jar
> system
>
> This breaks on MacOSX which doesn't have a tools.jar. After discussing this
> with brett he pointed me to it0063 in maven-core-it which solved this using
> profiles as follows:
>
>
>
> default-tools.jar
>
>
> java.vendor
> Sun Microsystems Inc.
>
>
>
>
> sun.jdk
> tools
> 1.4.2
> system
> ${java.home}/../lib/tools.jar
>
>
>
>
> I have checked out the repo and make the change and will attach the patch
> file. (Is there someway I could have tested this first?)
