imho it's not specifically ide-related, but rather integration-related. not
sure in which way though, as i can't find other relevant examples than ide
ones. so yes, for now we can assume it's ide-specific, but still related to
model. the listener for m1 we've implemented seems like a hack to me (with
comparison and so on) and it would certainly be much simpler if the event
mechanism was provided by the model itself.

ide integration needs a listener mechanism so that when project/model is
changed interested parties are notified and can eventually reflect those
changes (f.i. refresh a view). we've implemented that in mevenide, please see
