Just curious where are the “standard ASF guidelines” mentioned for reference?

2019-04-03 Thread Laszlo Kishalmi

Dear all,

Finally I stopped for a few days in my travel schedule, so I was able to
move the NetBeans 11.0 files from the staging area to the release one. I
need to wait for 24 hours to get all the mirror pick up the  changes.
Then I'm going to send out the announcements.

Well, I've bit prolonged the close of this vote thread as it was
partially included a weekend though the 72 hours requirement has been
met, so let's tally it up.

With 21 +1 votes (1 binding), no 0-s and no -1s, the community voted
that this release shall be brought forward to an IPMC vote to be released.

There have been two minor, non-blocking issues identified:

 - NETBEANS-2303 Update version information on the Windows Launchers

 - NETBEANS-2311 Update the Copyright year in NOTICE file

Details:

1 IPMC Member Binding Vote (votes are carried over to the IPMC vote
round):

RE: NB11 Question

2019-04-03 Thread Mike Billman
Figured out what was causing this...conflicting files. At one point, we had a
build.gradle file in the same directory so that a gradle command could be issue
to build the webui into our local environment. That is no longer needed, so I
deleted that file and it behaves as I would expect it.

Thanks for the help.

The preferred way is to open a JIRA issue then attach the info to it.
You can send it in private, but if you wish, then I'm going to open a JIRA
issue for that.

Please make sure that the *files contains no sensitive information*!

If you can send me the project skeleton including the *.gradle
 files that can help.

It might be a bug as sub-project detection is ore or less based on
heuristics and probably your case it just missfires.
Even if that happens I might suggest some workaround, if not a fix.

RE: jdk12 question - NB 11.0

2019-04-03 Thread Mike Billman
Sorry picture didn’t come through…

“switch expressions are a preview feature and are disabled by defulat. (use
–enable-preview to enable switch expressions)”

I am using a gradle project with the new gradle support. I have set up my
gradle build so that it does build successfully. But I can’t figure out the
error message.

AW: netbeans slack on theasf

2019-04-03 Thread Christian Lenz
We have another ticket: https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/INFRA-18149
sometimes the bridge between Jira and Slack is broken for NetBeans Slack. After
restarting Jira, everything is fine again. Problem is they seem to not want to
help here anymore, instead of saying please migrate to oour slack. Nothing to
say here that I don’t like the „solution“ but yeah.

Cheers

Is there a limitation on the Jira tooling preventing using the current Slack?
Seems easier to keep it in one place at the moment, then have a bigger
discussion about moving it all to Apache Slack otherwise. I don't know about
others, but I am a member of multiple Slack groups, per different OSS groups
even, so don't see adding a group as a limitation.
That part is super easy.

For instance, there are multiple channels on the current Slack group, and
NetBeans covers many technologies. The channel names in Slack have fairly short
char limits, so preceding them all with netbeans- would not work well. This
seems way more difficult that explaining where Slack is and how to access it
for everything NetBeans, but we can see.

I guess I'm just thinking priorities. I'd rather spend time getting more of the
project itself in working order right now unless there is a real limitation.
Initially we had to debate the use of Slack at all as an example, so some time
under the bridge there. But certainly interested in everyone's opinions.

Thanks

Wade

Looks like the Maven repository is down. Can we fix that? Many people rely

Hi folks,

As part of a request to connect Jenkins build (for maven and apidoc) to our

Maybe the more technical channels, like jira,github-repo can be recreated

It may be easier for people having multiple apache project to be there.
