NetBeans bloggers are a scarce resource. Maybe we should try to recover planet
NetBeans.

You need to be a committer to Apache NetBeans first, i.e., you need to have
an Apache ID, which means you not only need to have sent in your iCLA, but
you also need to have been invited to become a committer, by the existing
committers.

We'll start doing that once the Module Review is done, I think, i.e., the
focus right now is on this:

https://cwiki.apache.org/confluence/display/NETBEANS/List+of+Modules+to+Review

Once that's done and we've done our first release, we'll see who has been
active in the Apache NetBeans community and invite those to become
committers after voting on each of them.

How can we create an account there?

Apache NetBeans Blog

2017-10-24 Thread Geertjan Wielenga
Hi all,

Note that we have a community blog in which everyone can blog about their
usage/development of Apache NetBeans:

https://blogs.apache.org/netbeans/

Everyone is welcome to blog there (tips and tricks about NetBeans; some
interesting problems re doing the module review; whatever you want to share
around events, etc etc).

Just login to the above, send a mail (to this thread or me privately) with
the name you've used when logging in (it isn't necessarily your Apache ID,
it's whatever you decided your username was when you logged in) and you'll
be given permission to blog there.

Thanks,

Gj

Towards a community driven Apache NetBeans blog

2017-10-04 Thread Geertjan Wielenga
Hi all,

Here's a new blog entry, by Emilian:

https://blogs.apache.org/netbeans/entry/the-case-of-the-different

Notice that blogs you write at Apache are aggregated here:

https://blogs.apache.org/

I.e., anyone out there with announcements around their software on top of
Apache NetBeans, their findings in the context of the Modules Review,
sharing tips and tricks about anything, announcing upcoming events --
please make use of this Apache facility.

To be able to blog there, create a user/password at blogs.apache.org, send
me your username, and I will assign authoring permissions so that you can
start blogging -- it's as simple as that.
