Re: Separate convenience binaries
Well, my starting point here is PHP/HTML5 users -- I've seen some requests, and can imagine more, from these kinds of developers who want an IDE that contains no projects or anything at all that relate to Java. All they want to see is wizards, dialogs, etc, that relate to frontend development. And, ultimately, we could think about an ultra light editor simply for JavaScript and HTML and CSS, which could of course be extended, but essentially as a way to provide an alternative editor to Sublime, Atom, etc. These are two separate points, though. I'm curious what made you say this. Is it the download size or something else? Personally I'm finding the ergonomics module interesting as a technique but un-ergonomic for end-users. I'm not entirely certain it's even clear the modules are 'local'. And folks using the IDE for PHP are highly unlikely to use the IDE for C/C++. What this complicates is only the download page. Having a matrix looks odd for users. I guess this might explain why IntelliJ has different sub-brands (PHPStorm, etc). --emi http://coolbeans.xyz/ - CoolBeans: An IDE for Java, JavaEE, PHP and more!
