- Successfully ran mvn clean install -Pcontrib-check on OpenJDK 1.8.0_121 on 
Amazon Linux
- Checked README, NOTICE and LICENSE
- Ran some simple data flows

BTW, copyright date range on NOTICEs haven't been updated to 2017.

Andre, can you share any details on how you’re approaching this? Are you using 
an existing service wrapper? The javapackager tool added in Java 8? Etc.

Re: [VOTE] Establish Registry, a sub-project of Apache NiFi

But want to add that we now have the (small) burden of making sure the 
developer docs, etc. are crystal clear on how all the sub-projects and repos 
fit together. More sub-projects and repos means harder for new people to get 
started and understand. Let’s not lose the simplicity of the build and install.
