Re: [VOTE] Release Apache NiFi 1.12.0

2020-08-17 Thread rstjohn67
Is it possible to document the NiFi properties that were removed in the release
notes or an "upgrading to …” page.  As an administrator it is difficult to know
which properties should removed during our upgrade process.

Re: [VOTE] Release Apache NiFi 1.12.0

2020-08-17 Thread rstjohn67
+1 (non-binding)

Compile and ran with Amazon Correttto Java 8 on OSX.  I had an issue getting
site-to-site to work between NiFi 1.11.4 and NiFi 1.12.0 in RAW mode
(non-secure) and had to switch to using HTTP.  The message on the Remote
Process Group read “Remote instance is not configured to allow RAW Site-to-site
communication at this time".  Are new configurations required to transmit Iva
Site-to-site in RAW mode?  I didn’t see anything in the docs or online.  Note
that I was running both versions on the same computer and modified the one
instance with the following properties.

nifi.web.http.port=8081
nifi.remote.input.socket.port=9991

Re: [VOTE] Release Apache NiFi 1.12.0

2020-08-17 Thread Peter Turcsanyi
+1 (non-binding)

- verified checksums and signatures
- built source (empty local maven repo, Java 8 and 11 on Linux), start up
the binary
- untar and ran the convenience binary, tested ADLS processors and other
simple flows

+1 (binding) tested it with one of our client's flows and worked beautifully.

Went through the usual steps. Deployed a secured cluster on GCP and tried a
few flows. Confirmed some fixes, tested the ScriptedTransformRecord
processor, and the new flowfile concurrency features.

Performed full bull with contrib-check using:

Apache Maven 3.6.3 (cecedd343002696d0abb50b32b541b8a6ba2883f)
Maven home: /usr/local/Cellar/maven/3.6.3_1/libexec
Java version: 1.8.0_242, vendor: AdoptOpenJDK, runtime:
/Library/Java/JavaVirtualMachines/adoptopenjdk-8.jdk/Contents/Home/jre
Default locale: en_US, platform encoding: UTF-8
OS name: "mac os x", version: "10.15.6", arch: "x86_64", family: “mac"

Build succeeded without issue. Started up fine. Verified several of the newly
added features and all appears to be working as anticipated.

Thanks
-Mark

+1 (binding).

Verified the release info (signature, digests [equal to provided digests;
different from email as noted in other thread], etc.), the full build, and some
flows exercising new cryptographic metadata. Great work on this enormous
release everyone.
