Re: Configuring LDAP with OFBiz

2010-11-28 Thread Naveen Kumar B V
Hi Abhishek,
Yes true, modifying both the files you mentioned will ensure that the
details will be saved from both store-front and
backoffice. But, how is the actual implementation logic written. I suppose
it cannot be done only with OFBiz Mini-Lang in the xml files.
Should a separate service be written for example in Java (using JLDAP).
Can you throw some light on the implementation and some sample code.
Thank you once again for your time. Your inputs are really taking me
forward.

Regards,
Naveen Kumar B.V

some errors in your patch. There are annoying because AFAIK we have noways to
spot them automatically:
* The are not reported as errors by XSD when you load the file in an XML editor
* The Label manager does not report them
* The patch is 93074 lines and 5MB
* It's hard to scan this kind of errors in a patch even a small one

Could you please have a look to ensure that there are no other value tags

 hi there,
here a little useful improvement. i changed the ID Field of an input field in
in the macro form renderer from a normal String to a flexible String
 expander.
The advantage is that i can use ${} variables in the id description, that
helps me for example creating automatically unique id's.

I want to show some HTML text in a form field.
 I used this code below:
 field name=carCount title=${uiLabelMap.FMC_CarCount}
 encode-output=false
 display description=${carCountLink} /
 /field
The carCountLink is a string containing some HTML code.
The HTML code itself is shown in the form field instead of being processed as
 HTML and renderd accordingly.

sorry for my mistake.

I just arrange a program to check this problem(trans_chk.py). It will take care
each property set, and checks tag value is inside or outside.

And prepare all change file names in r1039574 to a text file: chk_files.txt,
and execute following command under OFBiz directory:

{quote}
 $ cat ../chk_files.txt | xargs python ~/trans_chk.py  chk_r1039574.txt

I run above command under r1039574 and r1039859, and results as attachment.

It seems some probelms in specialpurpose/ecommerce/config/EcommerceUiLabels.xml.

please check it, thanks :-)

With this branch people could rely on it for Prototype/Dojo. Those
interested by the trunk are already leaving on the leading-edge and should
not worry too much.

On the other hand maybe some would prefer to have jQuery in the next

[jira] Created: (OFBIZ-4037) Moving the user SignUp feature from MyPortal to the Framework

Moving the user SignUp feature from MyPortal to the Framework
-

 Key: OFBIZ-4037
 URL: https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/OFBIZ-4037
 Project: OFBiz
  Issue Type: Improvement
  Components: framework
Affects Versions: SVN trunk
Reporter: Bruno Busco

Hi Devs!
In the attached patch I have reworked the feature that allows a new user to
SignUp for an account.
This feature is actually only available when logging in at the MyPortal
application.
Well, IMO it should be centrally available so that the login screen is exactly
the same regardless of the application.
The Captcha feature is already implemented (captcha.java) partially in the
framework and so this patch should be seen as a clean up also.

I added full internationalization of all labels and created some labels in the
CommonUiLabels.xml file.

I would like some review so that I could then commit if nobody finds something
wrong.

By the way, there is for sure some improvement that could be done at a later
stage:
- Eliminate the labels that have been created in the CommonUiLabels from Party
and MyPortal
- Add an encription of the Captcha code so that it will not be easily broken by
robots.

Thank you for any comment you could provide.

[jira] Updated: (OFBIZ-4037) Moving the user SignUp feature from MyPortal to the Framework

Bruno Busco updated OFBIZ-4037:
---

Attachment: ofbiz_signup.patch

Moving the user SignUp feature from MyPortal to the Framework
 -

 Key: OFBIZ-4037
 URL: https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/OFBIZ-4037
 Project: OFBiz
  Issue Type: Improvement
  Components: framework
Affects Versions: SVN trunk
Reporter: Bruno Busco
 Attachments: ofbiz_signup.patch

 Hi Devs!
In the attached patch I have reworked the feature that allows a new user to
 SignUp for an account.
This feature is actually only available when logging in at the MyPortal
 application.
Well, IMO it should be centrally available so that the login screen is
exactly the same regardless of the application.
The Captcha feature is already implemented (captcha.java) partially in the
framework and so this patch should be seen as a clean up also.
I added full internationalization of all labels and created some labels in
 the CommonUiLabels.xml file.
I would like some review so that I could then commit if nobody finds
 something wrong.
By the way, there is for sure some improvement that could be done at a later
 stage:
 - Eliminate the labels that have been created in the CommonUiLabels from
 Party and MyPortal
 - Add an encription of the Captcha code so that it will not be easily broken
 by robots.
Thank you for any comment you could provide.

using ivy when downloading postgres driver

2010-11-28 Thread Erwan de FERRIERES

Hi all,

I've managed to use ivy (http://ant.apache.org/ivy/) to download the
postgreSQL driver, instead of using a direct download link. Before
adding it to the trunk, I'd like to have your thoughts on this.

just what I said in my mail, this is a direct download from the PG
website, and this is not using maven repos. And then less extensibility
in the future.

What I've done is replacing what is under the ant target, not the target
itself.

Should a separate service be written for example in Java (using JLDAP).

David E. Jones commented on OFBIZ-1262:
---

I don't know that the work I've done can replace these changes, or that I'll be
doing any work that will replace them. The work I did was to make various
calculations more accurate, but there is still an issue where in certain cases
we just can't get the calculated total based on prices without tax included to
exactly match the total based on a calculation based on prices with tax
included. What that means is that the only solution seems to be to do the
calculation based on prices with tax included, and then calculate how much of
that should be taken out as tax. There just doesn't seem to be any way to avoid
that, and that will eventually need to be implemented (preferably based on
existing settings on the ProductStore and the ProductPrice records to see if
there are prices with tax included).

Complete the support for VAT (Value-Added-Tax)

 Attachments: CalculateVatTax2.patch, ecommerceEu.zip

I have tried to implement a different of VAT Tax calculation without total
change the actual calculation of tax for USA.
I have add a new field into the ProductStore to understand if for a store the
vat tax has to be calculated (calculateVatTax).
The old field showPricesWithVatTax it will be used only if the
calculateVatTax will be set to yes for show the prices with tax included or
 excluded.
I have created a sample application (ecommerceEu) to show how it's working.
For the moment I have used only two product with vat tax calculated (GZ-1000
 and GZ-1001).
