OODT Components

2014-12-08 Thread Lewis John Mcgibbney
Hi Folks,
I am looking to add to the following list in an attempt to capture all of
the categories which the 20 or so OODT components fit into

Catalog and Archive (CAS) Components
Grid Components
Common Components
Agility
OODT Streaming

On a closely related theme, lets make the distinction between the
'services' e.g. File Manager, Workflow Manager and Resource Manager and
components. It's the latter which I am after here.
This relates directly to our aim to finish of the CMS site ASAP in
preparation for the 0.8 release early 2015.
Thanks
Lewis

Hi Tom,
Yeah lets aim for a 0.8 release in Jan, good thinking.
We've addressed 27 issues of some 261 assigned to 0.8-SNAPSHOT.
I just created a 0.9 tag in Jira.
Do you want to take a pass at bumping on (to 0.9) those issues which are
absolutely not going to be addressed within the 0.8 development drive?
We can then focus on reviewing any issues with patches.
Committing them to trunk.
Getting an RC drawn up for 0.8.
I'll catch you on IRC and we can draw up a roadmap for this friggin website.
We'll then flush it out to this list as well as Jira where we can create
and assign.

OODT 0.8 release

2014-12-08 Thread Tom Barber

Alright chaps

Just thinking about our plans for quarterly-ish releases. With the fixes
to tika, and the fact that ops-ui doesn't work properly without a patch,
would it be worth planning for an early Jan release, and we can spend
some time in the run up to Christmas kicking Lewis in the privates until
he either a) finished the new website or b) divides and conquers and
tells us what needs doing to get it finished so we can all pitch in.

Either way, I think a Jan release would be sensible after our meeting
earlier in the year.

Let me know what you think.
