Yes, I thought it might be too risky to perform such change
without
proper testing

So we would require another release for KMS 7.0.0 ?

I'm planning to start release process of OM 7.1.0 in a week
or so

It also looks like there were very little changes required in
order to
confirm with the new Kurento API?

I have fixed one issue already
Will take a look at migration guide, maybe something else
need to
be changed :)

I would recommend using one of the pre-compiled (or you compile your own)
docker images of Kurento/KMS. Much easier to upgrade/downgrade KMS versions.

Re: Kurento 7.0.0 released

2023-04-20 Thread Ali Alhaidary
As a follow up, I did do-release-upgrade for the 18.04 LTS om server, to
20.04 LTS however, kurento failed to start (6.8.0) and then updated to
(7.0.0) which failed to start as well, then I deleted kurento using
aptitude, and was not able to install. I will keep
trying/debugging/fixing and let the list know...

Re: Kurento 7.0.0 released

2023-04-15 Thread Maxim Solodovnik
Hello Seb,

Latest master seems to work with 7.0.0
And will NOT work with 6.16

It was discussed on user@ list :)

Hopefully I don't forget to update readme and release notes with this info
:)

from mobile (sorry for typos ;)

Kurento 7.0.0 released

2023-04-15 Thread seba.wag...@gmail.com
Should we update to v7.0.0 ?

OpenMeetings 7.0.0 requires KMS 6.18 as far as I know?
KMS 7.0.0 introduces API changes and is not backwards compatible.

See:
https://doc-kurento.readthedocs.io/en/latest/project/relnotes/v7_0_0.html

It is a bit confusing, but OpenMeetings v7.0.0 I think is not compatible
with KMS v7.0.0.

Thanks
Seb
