@Armin
Thanks for your effort. If you can see any system problems there
you are free to open new report on bugzilla. I am not a programmer
as you are, so you can see things there better than I. If you need
any further information about this case, let me know.

So, here's the process as I see it. We had several +1s, then some more
or less explicit -1s once the problem was discovered, confirmed and fixed.

We simply keep this vote open until its natural expiration. Even if the
vote passes (i.e., +1s outnumber -1s) this does not mean that the
release must be published. Namely, the release manager must see if the
-1s are motivated enough to produce a new release candidate. I expect
that this is what will happen. So no need for people to change their
vote, send more e-mails, or cancel the vote: if Juergen agrees this is a
release blocker we simply move on with a new RC.

  Andrea.

Linking Bugzilla search results

2014-04-05 Thread Jörg Schmidt
Hello,

How is it possible a Bugzilla search results list to link so that it is visible
_without login_? Is that even possible?

reason:
I'm working on the german translation of the release-notes for AOO 4.1 and was
experiencing links of the form:
https://issues.apache.org/ooo/buglist.cgi?cmdtype=dorem&remaction=run&namedcmd=AOO_410_Resolved

which do not work.

Greetings,
Jörg

We should investigate the original file more to see why it is giving

I am sorry, I have to re-request the show-stopper status.

The defect is easy to reproduce in AOO 4.1.0 Beta:
- new text document
- insert a field - e.g. page number field
- type some text
- insert an annotation (aka comment) on an arbitrary text selection
- save
- close
- reopen
--> Read Error message

Defect is triggered, if a text document contains at least one field beside an
annotation/comment on a text range.

Fix in progress

Re: [RELEASE]: propose AOO 4.1.0 RC

2014-04-05 Thread Pedro Lino
Hi Yuzhen, all

Sorry for the delay but I was doing some more testing.

Here are my findings:

There is no problem updating from 4.0.0 to 4.0.1
The Startup Group, the desktop icon and the Add/Remove list are updated as
expected.

The problem only occurs when updating from 4.0.0 to 4.1.0 and from 4.0.1 to
4.1.0
There are 3 items that fail: there are 2 startup groups, there are 2
desktop icons and there are two entries in the Add/Remove Programs list.

Updating from 4.0.1 to 4.1.0 using the MS patch is a little better: there
is only one entry in the Add/Remove Programs list after updating (the 4.1.0
as expected). However there are still 2 desktop icons and 2 startup groups
(in this case the patch fails to set the OO icon as the group icon while
the full installer succeeds)

How do you want me to report all these in bugzilla? Or can you (or someone
in QA) add it to bugzilla and add me to CC so that I confirm it (and add
screenshots if needed)?

Regards,
Pedro

System Requirements AOO 4.1

2014-04-05 Thread Jochen Nitschke
Hi,

this is about the System Requirements on the website. I don't know if
there is something similar in release packages too.
http://www.openoffice.org/dev_docs/source/sys_reqs_aoo41.html

The topic "For Accessibility" needs some attention. iAccessible2 is not
mentioned.
"Java runtime environment 1.4.0_02 / 1.4.1_01 or newer" is this really
still valid?

"Java" topic should say something about support of Oracle Java 8 and
openJDK8 released March 18, 2014, because main stream support of Java 7
might end in just one Year according to Oracle.
http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/java/eol-135779.html

Thanks for noticing this. I just made the java requirement for
accessibility consistent with our general java requirement, and removed the
java bridge requirement which is no longer used or needed according to the
Release Notes for 4.1.

Someone might need to check on the Linux requirement of gnome (and not
anything else?) as well.
