When you go to the issue, do you see an item "take" in the line, which
starts with "Assigned To:" ?
If not, then Rob or another Bugzilla administrator needs to give you the
suitable rights.

If yes, click the item "take" to assign the issue to you.

 Please do the needful.

Also any hints/suggestions/guidance would be highly appreciated.

That issue is about the UI. You can find relevant parts in the code,
when you search for some strings, which are at the same part in the UI.
You can also look for the UI name "Circles and Ovals" or for the
internal name "ellipsesbar". The View menu in Impress has got this item.
So you might find a solution, when you compare the code for the View
menu in Impress with the similar one in Draw.

Do you know how to search the code using OpenGrok?

Kind regards
Regina

I hope we can get some clarification on the above statement --
" old (outdated unsupported apple libraries/tools
installed"

esp with respect to Mac since we recently dropped support for anything
below 10.7.

In any case, reassessing the library/other externals versions for all
platforms is definitely in order.

Thanks, I like the video preview and the texts (is there a typo in the

The texts seem really to the point. I've asked the Italian mailing list
for a translation, and I'll let you have it when we are done. So far we
are working on the text only, but if a volunteer shows up we could go
for a fully dubbed version.

I've never heard about that every download webpage from Sourceforge.net
or its mirrors lead to problems.

As a last alternative you can try to download from here:

http://archive.apache.org/dist/openoffice/4.1.1/binaries/

Please first click on the language (code) you want and then choose the
respective platform (Windows, Mac, Linux) and type (full install or
language pack) to get the binary file. Not that comfortable then our
download webpage but hopefully suitable enough.

BTW:
You should contact the support team at Sourceforge.net to get the
original prolem sorted out and hopefully fixed:

thanks for your report.

From the copied values I don't see a problem. When using the link

But if you still have download problems, maybe the used mirror
server is temporarily offline. Please use another mirror that is
near to your location:

Same time last year, the Apple hardware was signed for ordering, when Infra
found out it lacked budget. This year the discussion goes, "no more
hardware until what we have runs", and that is assumed to take until first
part of 2015. So in other words dont put up too high hopes. Have a look at

Furthermore, please remember, AOO cannot cimpile on a standard Apple
platform, we need some old (outdated unsupported apple libraries/tools
installed, that makes the machine useless (or at the very least very
difficult) to use for projects that want to use the newest apple platform.

Posting a mailing list issue in reply to an unrelated thread is not the
way to request assistance. Please send a copy of a bounce message to

As a first step, delete or rename the OpenOffice User profile. User Profile
info is at
https://forum.openoffice.org/en/forum/viewtopic.php?f=74&t=12426

This cures most Spellcheck problems.

Sorry but the mailing list prevent from images to show, you could use
sites like imgur.com to post the image.

My recomendation is to update to the latest OpenOffice from our
website. Currently 4.1.1 is the most recent version.

Second would be to install the Spellchecker from our extension website:
http://extensions.openoffice.org/en/project/english-dictionaries-apache-openoffice

Third would be to enable it, by going to Tools -> Options, Language -> English.

You can see a screenshot of my version of AOO running the spellchecker:

Problem with OpenOffice

2014-10-05 Thread Katrina Miller
I don't know who to contact on this issue so if you are not the correct
person, PLEASE forward this to someone who can help.

I have been using OpenOffice for years and love--rather, used to love--the
program. I use Writer most often.

But for the past year, the spelling checker DOES NOT WORK. I tried to
download the extension but all I get is an error which I do not know how to
fix.

I've asked for help on the forums and all I get is the response that this
issue has been solved (it hasn't). I don't know what else to do but to
uninstall your program.

Please help!
