Windows98 is not a good reference in total.
I would only compare it to the NT series. And all of them where stable
depending what you install.

I would like to advertise Chocolatey, the Windows Paket Manager. It is really
the way to go if you want to do server based installations.

All the best

Re: Test builds for Windows

2017-06-29 Thread Pedro Lino

Hi again Mathias

The Portuguese 1793492 build does not include the latest dictionary
(available since May 29th)
Can you fix this?

Confirmed!
It is in trunk, but not (yet) in the 414 branch.
This will be corrected!

Thanks!

I am quoting (from configure.ac):
--enable-win-x64-shellext
Enable the build/usage of Windows 64bit shell extensions.
These extensions are used for the system integration on
Windows 64bit systems. For example supporting the search
in ODF files with the standard Windows search feature.

I didn't even know this was supported until recently... ;-)

Thank you for the explanation.
I never use Windows search but that could be useful.

Regards,
Pedro

The creation date of my Windows folder (C:\Windows) is 14. July 2009

Amazing how stable Windows has become now, with Windows 98SE would hardly have
been possible 8 years without reinstallation ;-)

7-zip 9.20 is almost 7 years old. Only two weeks ago I discovered that

Why unpack it? It is self extracting... ;-)

Hello,

> I am just doing a build of AOO414 including all 41 available languages.

Thank you.

I have tested Apache_OpenOffice_4.1.4_Win_x86_install_de.exe, no problems.

But I have made a strange observation:
If I try to unpack the installation package with 7Zip does not work, but there
is an error message.

Obviously, this is due to the fact that 2 folders with cryptic names (e.g., "_
ユ") are created. That means the structure of the decompressed files is:

/Apache_OpenOffice_4.1.4_Win_x86_install_de/
-/_ ユ/
--/licenses/...
--/readmes/...
--/redist/...
--/...
-/_レ/
--/InstalllOptions.dll
--/ioSpecial.ini
--/modern-header.bmp
--/modern-wizard.bmp
