I suppose it is correct to assume that "the last beta version" is identical to
the release version, especially since the test mentioned in
https://bz.apache.org/ooo/show_bug.cgi?id=128402 took place on November 14th,
but the release date was already on November 10th.

I will therefore post in the forum the information that AOO also works under
Big Sur.

Who are the other moderators of that list?

Would you be fine with converting it to a "subscription required" list,
i.e., any time a non-member posts to the list the message is rejected
with a notice to the sender that she must subscribe to post?

I'm asking since this approach reduces moderation activity to a minimum
and it allows to keep the list alive even if traffic is occasional, so
we wouldn't do any disservice to users. We might have other lists in the
same situation.

Note: I assume that "99% spam" means: out of all the e-mails that are
delivered to moderators for approval, 99% is spam. If you mean that 99%
of the e-mails that reach the list audience is spam, then it's a
different issue.

the last mail seems to be from June 2020 [1]. Do you really think that
deleting the mailing list is a disservice? ;-)

For me it's obvious that there is no longer a purpose.

We have one user confirming that it runs on the released version after
having trouble during the beta phase:

In the german forum there is this question
(http://de.openoffice.info/viewtopic.php?p=292444#p292444) and unfortunately I
don't know anything about MacOS.

As alternative the user could download the instaall file and just give

With this in mind, I will be adjusting AOO trunk and AOO42X to require this
newer version. Once I release EPM v5.0.0, I will make those changes.

Yes, but because it's the main page it's intended - when it's
about the big blue headline.
The link in the green box leads to the English release notes.

I should have figured that out myself. * facepalm *
Yet your explanation begs the question: is there a need for a unified
approach as to the landing page?

That is totally up to the language teams (if existent). We only update
the version number when a release is happening.

and we try to show the translated version of the announcement (seldom)

We don't have an Arabic release, so it is not in the drop-down.

But in case you have missed it, the page is now available on GitHub:

https://github.com/apache/openoffice-org

So everyone is encouraged to create a Pull Request when an error is found.
