I _think_ there is an incorrect link in the release notes

2021-10-08 Thread Jörg Schmidt
Hello,

I inform you that in the release notes the wrong link
https://bz.apache.org/ooo/buglist.cgi?list_id=233429&query_format=advanced&resolution=FIXED&resolution=FIXED_WITHOUT_CODE&target_milestone=4.1.10

is set and this link should be correct:

https://bz.apache.org/ooo/buglist.cgi?list_id=233429&query_format=advanced&resolution=FIXED&resolution=FIXED_WITHOUT_CODE&target_milestone=4.1.11

I explicitly state:
neither do I threaten to make a change to the finished release notes, nor will
I implicitly make a change.
This email is not meant as a "poisoned email" but as a hint to something in the
re-release-notes, which I think is factually wrong.

Hi all,

And thanks to everyone who was involved in this release!

Time to move on...

Can anyone create a tag/branch for AOO41X?
Note that Jim already merged new code, so it is not HEAD of.

We should also update the documentation here, some parts are still for SVN:

Release announce to Apache moderated due to source link

2021-10-08 Thread Carl Marcum

Hi All,

My Apache announce email got kicked back due to the link to the source
not using the mirror system.

"Source releases MUST use the ASF mirror system."

I used:

So I guess I need to use:
https://downloads.apache.org/openoffice/4.1.11/source/

I'll send a new one in a while.

Our download page is wrong. See
https://infra.apache.org/release-download-pages.html#download-page

we use already a ASF server. But it has to be also the download system.

I had the same problem with the AOO 4.1.10 release.

However, it's not a big loss when the mail is not accepted. So, don't
waste any time for this.

Matthias and I discussed directly.

In some parts of the world closer.lua will select dlcdn.a.o as the “mirror” and
in others it will select downloads.a.o.

This is expected and how Infra has set up closer.lua to minimize costs.

BTW - We have not updated Alternative download link #2
 on
openoffice.org/download/ we could switch that to use closer.lua.

Dave

It’s good because it is on the cdn.

https://www.apache.org/dyn/closer.lua/openoffice/4.1.11/source/

Gave me https://dlcdn.apache.org/openoffice/4.1.11/source/ which is
the cdn. “Mirror"

We are good.

nice when it is working now. Last time it was not.

@Carl:
When you use the "closer.lua" link in the mail then it should work.

Used:
https://www.apache.org/dyn/closer.lua/openoffice/4.1.11/source/

Let's hope that's the one :)

another fail :(

See the reply:

---
Sorry, but the source link is not a valid download page.

The page athttps://openoffice.apache.org/downloads.html is more like it,
but the artifact links on the page must use the mirror system.
For example:

https://www.apache.org/dyn/closer.lua/openoffice/4.1.11/source/apache-openoffice-4.1.11-bdb20b2a64-src.tar.bz2

This needs to be done for all the current artifacts on the page.
[The archived ones are fine as they are.]
---

Best regards,
Carl

"Source releases MUST use the ASF mirror system."

I used:
https://openoffice.apache.org/downloads.html

So I guess I need to use:
https://downloads.apache.org/openoffice/4.1.11/source/
Our download page is wrong. See
https://infra.apache.org/release-download-pages.html#download-page

I'll send a new one in a while.

And they actually do. So, they (probably sebb) need to refresh.
