For code contributions the committer is supposed to use a special comment to give the credit, maybe translator-committers can do the same with the note field. I hope everybody is aware the the credit is only available in pootle,,,not in our svn, which is the original, so in other words no-one can tell how long the credit survives (clearly inside a release window the db will not be reset).
