Hi,

I can confirm this crash on OOo 2.0.4, OOo 2.1, OOo 2.2 and SRC680m212
(current master on OOo 2.3 codeline).
But in step 2 I've hit button New Doc. - a button create doesn't exist

Please submit a corresponding issue.

Regards, Oliver.

now I am doing some work related to the openoffice . openoffice will crash
while I do some operation. for resolveing phenomenon , I have spend a lot of
time on it to find the reasons but I have not found the reasons by now .

the following is the steps to reduce the crash phenomenon:
1 create a new word document
2 click on the menu Insert --- envelop item , then pop-up the
envelop dialog, then select the envelop tab, click on the create button
. after that , a new docment and new window will be displayed .
3 click on the menu File --- save/save as item ,save the envelop
document that was created at the above 2th step.
4 click on the menu File --- reload item on the window created at
the 2th step.(this operation will reload this document)
5 the openoffice crash after excuting the 4th step

Note : this phenomenon occurs in the openoffice 2.1 but I don't test it in
 the openoffice 2.2

Have Any body been puzzled by this phenomenon or found how to resolve this
 phenomenon ?

Yes. the 4NT builds the source with cygwin shell. Is there something wrong?

Try starting it from your XP Desktop.

Hmm, I would not worry about complaints.

There must be plenty of duplicates - that's why we have a special button
for them - and in my experience, complaints no longer hurt, after the
first 100 or so ;)

My suggestion is - at least do a serious search first, then go ahead and
file the issue.
Include a description of the search such as:
I searched the site for envelope crash and found nothing relevant.
That way people can give feedback that might help to improve the
searching method.
I think that would be better than asking on the lists.

Yes, please do so. configure should be called with real path names.
The translation to the cygdrive expressions is done internally.

Besides that: is there a reason why you are using 4NT shell? As far as I
know this is not officially supported. Building with Cygwin alone
should work. If you need I can give you step by step instructions how to
set up, configure and use a build environment with Cygwin.

BTW: it seems that your mail client is broken. The character set it
declared is not suitable for all characters you are using. So some
characters are unreadable. Perhaps you can find a way to fix that, it
would make improve the legibility of your mails.

Thank's, Martin, for bringing this up again.

In Hamburg we do such
(http://wiki.services.openoffice.org/wiki/Code_Reviews#Example:_Leightweight_Code_Reviews_within_OOo)
reviews for more than three month now, and there occurred a few
effects I like especially:
- the Coding Standards
(http://wiki.services.openoffice.org/wiki/Cpp_Coding_Standards) get
really fast into the fingers, because we get in contact with them
each week,
- there appeared to be several things to be learned from the
co-developers, regarding as well their programming skills in general,
as their problem domain specifically,
- I get to know parts of the Office code, I never saw before, which
helps my understanding of the project as a whole.

After the current experience we would highly encourage any developer
in the OOo-community to try out such reviews, and even to make them a
regular habit.

Inspired by Joerg Jahnkes great page about regression tests
(http://wiki.services.openoffice.org/wiki/Steps_towards_regular_automated_regression_testing),
I set up a wiki page
http://wiki.services.openoffice.org/wiki/Steps_towards_regular_code_reviews

to focus the activities towards code reviews.

ok, we are talking here about two different aspects of code review, the
educational and the approval one. Both are quite important but should
treated in different ways. I think doing code review in the public with
the help of collaboration tools (webex, skype/voip,
http://cld.blog-city.com/netbeans_collaboration_project___collablets_and_codeaware_to.htm,
collab.netbeans.org) could be a major step forward getting new developer
into the project.

2007-05-23 Thread KAMI

Hi Martin!

Let's know how finished the coverity scan at: http://scan.coverity.com/
I can't find our OpenOffice.org there.

Also what is your opinion about OpenOffice.org++ project. One of memeber
has updated the patches for 2.2. Will someone review their patches. All
of them submited to Issuezilla.

Thanks,
KAMI

cool tools for doing reviews ?

Thank's, Martin, for bringing this up again.

In Hamburg we do such
(http://wiki.services.openoffice.org/wiki/Code_Reviews#Example:_Leightweight_Code_Reviews_within_OOo)
reviews for more than three month now, and there occurred a few
effects I like especially:
- the Coding Standards
(http://wiki.services.openoffice.org/wiki/Cpp_Coding_Standards) get
really fast into the fingers, because we get in contact with them
each week,
- there appeared to be several things to be learned from the
co-developers, regarding as well their programming skills in general,
as their problem domain specifically,
- I get to know parts of the Office code, I never saw before, which
helps my understanding of the project as a whole.

After the current experience we would highly encourage any developer
in the OOo-community to try out such reviews, and even to make them a
regular habit.

Inspired by Joerg Jahnkes great page about regression tests
(http://wiki.services.openoffice.org/wiki/Steps_towards_regular_automated_regression_testing),
I set up a wiki page
http://wiki.services.openoffice.org/wiki/Steps_towards_regular_code_reviews

to focus the activities towards code reviews.

ok, we are talking here about two different aspects of code review,
the educational and the approval one. Both are quite important but
should treated in different ways. I think doing code review in the
public with the help of collaboration tools (webex, skype/voip,
http://cld.blog-city.com/netbeans_collaboration_project___collablets_and_codeaware_to.htm,
collab.netbeans.org) could be a major step forward getting new
developer into the project.

Note the PDF import filter, OpenXMP inport filters, and smartag too.
What is OOo-SP plugin?

Are we have an implamented server side code to use update capability of
OOo and the Extensions?

Besides that: is there a reason why you are using 4NT shell? As far as I
know this is not officially supported. Building with Cygwin alone
should work. If you need I can give you step by step instructions how to
set up, configure and use a build environment with Cygwin.

As I already wrote in my answer to your question in
[EMAIL PROTECTED] a lot of your configure switches are obsolete
and your build environment is partially bogus. Please don't bother
the people in this list before you followed my advice in [EMAIL PROTECTED]

Regards,

Volker Quetschke

BTW: it seems that your mail client is broken. The character set it
declared is not suitable for all characters you are using. So some
characters are unreadable. Perhaps you can find a way to fix that, it
would make improve the legibility of your mails.

 Best regards,
 Mathias
