[dev] Image Reflection & Shadow blur feature

2008-05-07 Thread Maulik Gordhandas
Hi,

two important features that are missing from openoffice. the shadow effect
to the image.. shadow effect in openoffice but there isn't the blur effect
which gives an very good effect to the writer presentation..

the image reflection feature which creates a reflection to an image is also
a very good feature which can be incorporated..

these features are present in iworks, microsoft office since a time and it
gives a cutting edge..

pls try to work on these features..
thanks

It should be relatively easy to customise the menus and toolbars to
simplify the interface. It is probable that lots of people have done
this, but not published their efforts!

My point of view:

Most people agree that OOo mustn't loose (meta) data when Java is not
available, but plug ins for working with meta data can rely on Java.

Changing OOo's Java base line from 1.4 to 1.5 is fine for most people
then.

AFAIK the current Java baseline is 1.3.1.
That is correct, the (still) valid consensus regarding Java can be found

Re: [dev] Password Recovery

2008-05-07 Thread Gail

Hi Manish
Try this site. http://www.gtopala.com/ and down load the SIW utility. I
have this neat little utility and it will display all hidden passwords
used with windows OS. It may work for OO docs too. Good luck

Hi Manish,
This is probably not the best list to post such a question.
[EMAIL PROTECTED] might be a better place.

You could try doing a google search for 'ooo password crack'.

[dev] OOo crash for documents with heavy formatting

2008-05-07 Thread Andriy Rysin

Hi all,

I was just wandering if necessary level of attention is given to the OOo
crash problem (84159) - it was reported before 2.4 with target 3.x but
it seems after the bug was confirmed the interest in it was lost. The
bug basically renders OOo unusable for documents with heavy formatting.
It affects all patforms and crash-producing document is very easy to
create - just have more than 2^16 text styles. If such document is
opened it will crash the program on close and often on some formatting
operations, like style change.

I'd appreciate if somebody can provide any information on when this
problem may be taken care of.

Thanks,
Andriy

Since no one has raised hands, let me tackle that.
