Hi. Do you guys perhaps have an operating system equivalent to Windows XP or 
Vista so we are hot reliant on Microsoft???

No, OpenOffice.org is only an office software. If you want to use a
different operating system than Windows, try Linux or BSD. Ubuntu Linux
might be a good choice for you. The operating system can be downloaded
for free or you can even ask for a free CD.

[dev] Operating System discrepancy on www.openoffice.org website

I was advised this list is where website discrepancies should be posted.

On http://download.openoffice.org/2.3.0/index.html just under the windows
option there is text ( All versions (98)) indicating that the windows
operating system must be greater than (or later than) windows '98

On page  http://www.openoffice.org/dev_docs/source/sys_reqs_20.html it
clearly states that windows 98 is an acceptable operating system for OOo2.3

Please advise if this issue should be directed elsewhere.
