BTW, I can't add feature mail in the EIS. I don't have any button to
enter or edit feature mails anywhere. Is this a permission issue,
or ... ?

You need to be logged in as a regular user. The user guest does not
have permission to edit anything.

Yes, I am logged in as a regular user.

To be more specific, I can go in and edit my CWS records all I want,
which is not a problem. But, when I click on Tasks to get the list of
tasks associated with that CWS, there is no place I can click to edit
Feature Mail within that task list. I always thought it was due to me
not being a Sun engineer (or something).

Either that, or I'm searching for it in the wrong place.

[dev] short description for ReleaseNotes can now be added into FeatureMails

2009-10-15 Thread Bernd Eilers

Hi there!

The form in EIS to enter a featuremail has become an additional text
field for entering text that should go into the WhatsNew Information of
ReleaseNotes for releases and developer snapshots.

The column spec abstract in the WhatsNew Table of the ReleasNotes has
been renamed to description. This column will contain the text entered
into the new field in EIS if present. If no special text was entered in
EIS the first paragraph of the abstract of the specification will be
used. If no spec is available and no text was entered into the new field
the description of the featuremail is being used.

Please limit yourself to one or two short sentences only when entering
data for the new field.

You can also add this new data to featuremails which where already sent.

Just use the Menu entry Changes Mails / FeatureList in EIS and click
on the pen on the right site of the table to edit the featuremail. Only
the original poster of the featuremail and a limited set of users with
special access rights can change this information.

Kind regards,
Bernd Eilers

Hi Bernd,

That was cool fast! Thanks a lot for implementing this feature! :-)
By the way, I can confirm problems login into OOo-EIS at the moment. The
login mask does not return with any result. Thats maybe related to
Koheis problem?

Thanks again!
Ingrid
