Re: Integrate jenkins to Apache-rya incuabator.
Let me try to suggest a different approach: If Amila wants to focus on getting a travis-ci build to work, it would be very trivial for a committer to copy the command into the "maven command" form field in Jenkins. I'm not sure how podlings are meant to get karma (as the wiki page is worded in terms of TLP's "PMC Chair"), so that's something I can figure out for you as a mentor. Once the committer has the necessary karma to interact with Jenkins, it's dirt simple to copy an existing Jenkins job, change the repository location and make sure it runs the expect maven command. Josh Elser wrote: Uh, in general, I'm not sure what Amila is going to be able to do herself. Only people with Apache IDs (e.g. committers) are going to be allowed to have an account on Jenkins AFAIK. RE: Integrate jenkins to Apache-rya incuabator.
Generally, there are no Jenkins-specific things you need to do the software itself. Since the software has a maven build, an automated build in Jenkins should be easy to set up. Jenkins will need the ability to pull the software (probably the development branch). Since the code is public on github, then this should be no problem. Apparently, there is a Jenkins plug in for this: https://wiki.jenkins-ci.org/display/JENKINS/GitHub+Plugin Here's some guidance you may have already seen: http://fourkitchens.com/blog/article/trigger-jenkins-builds-pushing-github I usually set up things to trigger a build on any change to the develop branch. Integrate jenkins to Apache-rya incuabator.
Hi all, We are planning to integrate jenkins to Apache-rya incuabator. Can some one please guide me on what is the procedure to follow when doing this? Thank you! -- *Amila Wijayarathna* Undergraduate, Faculty of Information Technology, University of Moratuwa, Sri Lanka.
