an issue like yours popped in a while ago [1]: due to the way how Spring
MVC does content negotiation, you need to explicitly include the
content-type suffix in cases like yours:
/rest/verifyPassword/te...@mail.com.json?password=aPassword
Anyway, I urge to warn you that such method is deprecated and will not
be available in 1.2.X: please "use Basic-Authentication and GET
/users/self to verify authentication and retrieve user object including
assigned roles" (as reported by [2]).
