LOL. Yea, the time zone difference definitely adds a layer of complexity.
It's totally understandable if it doesn't work out, so please don't go far
out of your way trying to make it work.

I will catch up with whoever comes to Vegas in September.

Have fun,

[Bug 63397] New: Exception should be logged rather than having to increase log level.

2019-05-02 Thread bugzilla
https://bz.apache.org/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=63397

Bug ID: 63397
Summary: Exception should be logged rather than having to
increase log level.
   Product: Tomcat 9
   Version: 9.0.19
  Hardware: PC
OS: Mac OS X 10.1
Status: NEW
  Severity: normal
  Priority: P2
 Component: Catalina
  Assignee: dev@tomcat.apache.org
  Reporter: ch...@cerskine.com
  Target Milestone: -

The following stack trace was logged to catalina..log only after turning
on FINE logging. The status code in the access log was logged as 200 but the
value returned to the application for this was 500. This was due to tracing
the jersey transaction which loads the trace in the header. This should have
been logged with the default logging level and had reported the status as 500
in the access log.

The schedule has us at the venue until 22:00 local time (ugh) for
Saturday, so we might even be able to see Igal during some non-crazy
tie for him (who, I believe is PDT, so 9 hours away from Brussels).

Should I leave the async IO code enabled, or should it remain disabled by
default for this build ?

On the "video call" front it's more complex though:
- I don't see the feature in the phone app (so it looks a bit useless for
that)
- On the desktop website, it's there but it needs Chrome or a desktop app

Yep, that is it. I've just created the #tomcat channel. Anyone with an
@apache.org address can add themselves. I think anyone else needs to be
invited.

I think it is related to pushing multiple commits at once.

Best bet is to engage with the infra team.

Done that. Infra knew about it [1] and was already investigating with
GitHub on how to fix it.

One fix to an ASF script was applied yesterday [2] and Sebb also
recommends to only use Gitbox not Github to pull/push [3]. So if the
applied fix actualy fixes the problem, we are good, if not, we could try
switching individually to GitBox. I myself was only using GitBox,
because without reason I was assuming it to be more authoritative.

Rainer

Video is quite hard to do right, so that's super ambitious. I guess we'll
try.
"the ASF slack instance" is what exactly ? I found
https://the-asf.slack.com/ is that it ?
