This was true in very old versions of mod_jk. Current is 1.2.15 with a new
mod_jk to be released very soon.

Apache 2.0.44 and later should work, I don't know which planet you obtained
an apache 2.0.6 from but it certainly wouldn't work.

Why not recheck your apache and mod_jk versions and then check back in with us.

In general this works.

Are you sure, that you are using Apache httpd 2.0.6? This is *very* old and you
should update first to a more recent version, e.g. 2.0.58.

If the problem still happens, try to get a core dump and to do a backtrace (bt)
via gdb or a similar tool.

Together with the backtrace the Jk directives of your httpd configuration and
your worker properties file would be helpful.
