Re: [VOTE] TomEE 1.6.0 / OpenEJB 4.6.0 (staging-120) -- CANCELLED

2013-11-17 Thread David Blevins
There's a -1 on the OpenJPA vote. We would have needed that vote to pass to
use those binaries in our release.

The -1 wasn't serious and we still have a chance to come through for Alex, Tim,
Judah and crew, so I've pulled the OpenJPA tag in so we can make our own
binaries from it.

Builds are up and TCK us running. If all looks good, I'll put them up for a
vote.

Thanks to everyone who took the time to review these binaries. We've never had
so many +1 votes from non-committers before. Really very awesome.

[VOTE] TomEE 1.6.0 / OpenEJB 4.6.0 (staging-147)

2013-11-17 Thread David Blevins
Ok, TCK clean so far.

Maven Repo:

Binaries:

Tag:

The vote will go for 72 hours. This one should be fairly easy as the binaries
are effectively the same. Will attempt to do a little binary diff work later
today to save everyone the trouble of having to re-evaluate the full set of
binaries from scratch.

classloading documentation

2013-11-17 Thread Karl-Philipp Richter
Hi together,
I'm new to mailing list and hope this is the right place to address to.

I would like to suggest to improve the documentation on classloading and
classloader hierarchy in tomee. The documentation on deployment on
http://tomee.apache.org/deploying-in-tomee.html needs one of an
explanation of tomee's classloading principles or a link to official
java ee resources (in case the mechanisms are exactly the same).
What is the TempClassLoader? So far I found on the website and through
search engine only one explanation which refers to the temploader.skip
property, but this isn't sufficient.

Regards,
K. Richter

Digging in. A gentle note to late feedback like this; we're 2 weeks and
several all-nighters into this release :)

This is a very big part of our long release cycles.

The feedback is excellent, the timing could be improved :)

2013-11-17 Thread David Blevins
We were simply missing a lot of excludes in the rat.xml, which I've added in
trunk with some small comments.

There were 5 trivial java files missing headers. No IP in any of them. Fixed
in trunk anyway, but not worth the 18+ community hours to reroll and review new
binaries.
