"PRIMARY" prefix in
user core and registry core tests If there are any other places that
are used "PRIMARY" prefix in tests, Please remove it...

Thanks,

Re: [Dev] ${carbon.version} in carbon.xml in carbon

2013-07-26 Thread Gokul Balakrishnan
It may not be resolved in the kernel distribution pack itself. When a
product is built, the kernel distribution zip is unpacked to the product's
p2-profile-gen target directory; and AFAIK such parameters will be resolved
by the product's own assembly plugin and its associated filter properties.
Also see ${product. name} and ${product.key} etc. The same will be the case
for them as well.

Re: [Dev] ${carbon.version} in carbon.xml in carbon

2013-07-26 Thread Bhathiya Jayasekara
Hi,

But kernel also has carbon.version property defined in following files.

./distribution/product/modules/distribution/4.1.0/src/assembly/filter.properties
./distribution/kernel/4.1.0/src/assembly/filter.properties

What are they used for?

I raised this question because I got following exception when visiting
feature UI in carbon server.

Re: [Dev] Cluster initialization delays the server start up by almost 1 minute

2013-07-26 Thread Afkham Azeez
I looked into this, and narrowed the problem down to the mcast timeout
value. For some reason, Hazelcast instance creation increases with an
increased mcast timeout value. I have raised this on the Hazelcast forum.

Re: [Dev] ${carbon.version} in carbon.xml in carbon

2013-07-26 Thread Gokul Balakrishnan
That's funny because it should be resolved by the carbon server pack
generation level. From what I understand, based on the distribution pom,
the kernel module will be built first. This will generate
the wso2carbon-core-4.1.0 zip that will be used by all other products,
including carbon server. When the actual products are built, this zip will
be unpacked to the p2-profile-gen like I mentioned and based on the
product's filters the values will be resolved. The same should happen in
the event of carbon server as well, but based on the exception you've got,
this has not happened.

It seems that you're running the carbon core as opposed to the carbon
server product. Can you ensure the pack you are running is taken from
/carbon/kernel/branches/4.1.0/distribution/product/modules/distribution/4.1.0/target
as opposed
to /carbon/kernel/branches/4.1.0/distribution/kernel/4.1.0/target?

Re: [Dev] A carbon util to get the service URL of a carbon admin service ?

2013-07-26 Thread Nuwan Bandara
Guys,

Please go through carbon core Util classes, there are bunch of util methods
to give you server information (URLs/Contexts/Ports etc). Do NOT randomly
read configurations (I hope you dont :)).

We need to document the carbon API, but until that, please read some code
in the core.

/Nuwan

Re: [Dev] Cluster initialization delays the server start up by almost 1 minute

2013-07-26 Thread Afkham Azeez
Here is the response I got from the Hazelcast forum. The startup delay you
experience should be there only for the very first node in the cluster.
Please confirm that this delay was seen only for the very first node.

---

Yes, it's by design.

MulticastTimeoutSeconds defines the time that a node should wait for a
valid multicast response from another node running in the network before
declaring itself as master node and creating its own cluster.

This applies to only the first node, other nodes should get a reply from
the first in a short time and join to it.

Re: [Dev] Invitation: Code Review - AS @ Wed Jul 24, 2013 2:30pm - 3:30pm (krishan...@wso2.com)

2013-07-26 Thread Krishantha Samaraweera
Please find the code review notes for App Server integration test cases.

Will update the crucible project once we sort out the problem with project
indexing.

CommodityQuoteTestCase

1. Use proper class name in log initialization.
2. Don't use abbreviations or short names for variables, method names etc..
3. Use test prefix for all test methods.
4. Use a static variable to hold service name.
5. Get the OM element of the response and assert rather getting child
elements.
6. Include descriptive message in each assert statement.
7. Build the payload rather using hard coded request xml.
8. User AxiomUtils to convert string to OM instead of StXOMBuilder
9. Throw correct exception rather throwing EXCEPTION class in private
methods.

ThrottlingTestCase

1. Read local IP though java - InetAddress.getLocalHost() or
NetworkInterface.getNetworkInterfaces()
2. Improve test case to check throttling policy engagement.
3. Disable throttling policy attached to service at the end of the tests.
4. User constants variables to hold IP/DOMAIN.
5. Don't use expected exception, catch the exception and assert for
specific value.
6. User simple asserts rather asserting whole response from server.
7. Don't assert inside private methods, do it inside test methods.
8. Rename private methods - invokeService instead of Callservice
9. DenyDomain test case - set dummy domain instead of setting IP.
10. User meaningful variable names
11. To check Maximum Concurrent Accesses use LB_SERVICE instead of using
echo service - LB_SERVICE is designed to test the concurrent access attempts
12. Change the logic used for testing prohibit time interval
13. Expected exception should be used carefully, don't continue the code
after the code line which throws expected exception.

Thanks,
Krishantha.

Re: [Dev] Cluster initialization delays the server start up by almost 1 minute

2013-07-26 Thread Nirodha Pramod
Hi Azeez,

Yes this happens only in the first node of the cluster. Basically when
other nodes of the cluster are not started yet, then the first node waits
for other nodes to initialize the cluster. And as you pointed out that time
can be configured by changing,
60 in axis2.xml.

thanks,
Nirodha

Yes, I too think it's fine to for the very first node, and since that

Hi Sameera,

We used the configuration you sent for configuring the ELB and configured
AS according to previous release's docs.
But when we try to access the management console(Mgr node) it always
timeouts. And on the ELB we see the same error again. Cannot access the
management console.

 Hi all,

Should the registry set the tenant domain in this case, or the code
accessing the registry set the tenant domain? AFAIU, its the code accessing
the registry which needs to ensure that this is done isn't it? In other
words, whoever responsible for creating this thread should be doing this
 isn't it?

 Thanks,
 Senaka.
