[Dev] Getting Cluster ID in Axis2

2014-02-03 Thread Gokul Balakrishnan
Hi,

Is it possible to get details such as the current cluster ID of the node
and the client IP from which a particular request originated from in Axis2
(say in a handler for example) ? How can we achieve this?

Thanks,

Hi,

What do you mean by current cluster ID of the node? A node can only belongs
to a one cluster.

2014-02-03 Thread Gokul Balakrishnan
Hi Nirmal,

Yes, I meant to ask if there is some way to retrieve the cluster ID so that
we could do something with the value (such as expose it into the
MessageContext etc.)

Thanks,

 Hi all,

Can product RMs make sure to do the final release with zero test
failures. Otherwise we will have to fix them before creating custom
branches etc.. And test failure will directly impact to the current chunk
build stabilization process. So try to run all unit/integration
(backend/UI) test cases before the release.

Please let automation team know, if you find any difficulty with fixing
 failure cases.

 Thanks,
 Krishantha.

Re: [Dev] [BAM] Problem with Archiving Cassandra Data

2014-02-03 Thread Sinthuja Ragendran
 Hi chamila,

BAM Cassandra archival feature is designed for event streams, not for all
cassandra column family. Hence for arbitrary column family you can't use
this feature. CEP and BAM uses different stream definition store, hence the
streams defined in CEP is not accessible in BAM. And also there is a
limitation in BAM archival feature, that you can't archive hours old data
and it will handled with days granularity. But this can be fixed easily, we
will fix it so that you can archive with hours granularity in the next
release.

Anyhow finally the archive feature is generating hive script based on the
stream name and the date/time you have provided in the UI and executes in a
scheduled time interval to archive the data from the source column family.
Hence you can also write similar hive script in your own which reads from
your original source column family and archive to another column family,
which does the same job as archival feature.

Thanks,
Sinthuja.

Yes move transport project as a module under Axis2 since both projects
use same version numbers there is no issue. In fact there is no Transport
project at Apache now, modules belong to Transport project has merged to
 Axis2.

Until we do the official releases we will do SNAPSHOT releases into Nexus
snapshot repository in daily basis, this enables developers to build the
modules they work on while dependencies will resolve from Nexus.

I also faced to same issue but AFAIK there is no problem in GitHub end so
I'm not quite sure about the issue. We also faced few other difficulties
with Bamboo and continued with a Jenkins without such issues. For the time
being you can on hold this task as we can easily continue with Jenkins.

What is the proper method to programmatically stop the carbon server?
System.exit(0) does the trick but doesn't shutdown gracefully. I looked up
on a service wrapper[1] that supports this features. I want to trigger a
graceful shutdown as you do with Ctrl+C.

Cheers~

Hi Chan,
You can use the admin service "ServerAdmin"[1] to graceful shutdown the
carbon server.

Do we have an OSGi service? I am trying to do this from a jaggery app.

[Dev] Hadoop 2 - HDFS Multitenancy

2014-02-03 Thread Shani Ranasinghe
Hi,

Hadoop 2.1.0 release [1] is mentioned to be stable. I suggest we use this
feature for SS future release.

In hadoop 2, a main feature that is introduced is federation. This is where
there can be multiple namenodes/namespaces per cluster. A namenode here
means a active namenode, a passive namenode and a secondary namenode. So
with this approach, if we dedicate one namenode/namespace per tenant we can
get the tenant isolation.

As per the discussion I had with Prabath A, and Dhanuka on friday, we had 2
questions,

1) Can there be multiple namespaces in a single namenode? is it
recommended?

2) Let's say I have a federated namespace/namenodes. There are two
namenodes A /namespace A1 and namenode B/namespace B1, and have 3
datanodes. Can someone from namespace A1, access the datanode's data in
anyway belonging to namespace B1. If not how is it handled?

IMO this could be handled to some extend with the usage of kerberos in
HDFS. The delegation tokens could be of use in this case. However will need
to look into this more.

I have raised these questions on the HDFS mailing lists, but have not yet
got any response.

I am yet to try the Hadoop 2 aforementioned release. Will do a POC and
update.

2.1.0-beta

[Dev] Build Stabilization - Status update

2014-02-03 Thread Sagara Gunathunga
We have completed moving following kernel dependencies into GitHub and
setup Jenkins jobs for each project so that each job run periodically and
push SNAPSHOT artifacts into Nexus snapshot repository. You can view
Jenkins dashboard from here [1] and Nexus snapshot repository from here[2]
with latest SNAPSHOT versions.

1.) wso2-axiom [3]
2.) wso2-axis2 [4]
3.) wso2-wss4j [5]

Next target is to move following projects into GitHub and make SNAPSHOT
available on Nexus through Jenkins daily builds and we are planning to
complete this list by end of this week.

1.) carbon4-kernel
2.) carbon-deployment
3.) carbon- commons
4.) carbon-registry
5.) wso2-synapse
6.) carbon-mediation

Hi Sagara,
I have committed the changed carbon4-kernel changed with the new SNAPSHOT
versions. I built it and it was a success for me.

@Maheshika,
Shall we trigger a build and check the status?

thanks
Eranda

In addition to this I think we need carbon-utils as well.

[Dev] [Carbon 4.3.0] Moving some identity components into carbon-commons

2014-02-03 Thread Sagara Gunathunga
We have identified project level dependencies for AS among them following
identity components seems use with all Carbon based products hence it would
be better if we can move them into carbon-commons project. This will
eliminate the requirement of doing carbon-identity release with every other
product releases.

IS folks please advice whether following components are tidily couple with
other identity components or not if not we can easily move them out.

org.wso2.carbon.identity.authenticator.saml2.sso
org.wso2.carbon.idp.mgt
org.wso2.carbon.user.mgt
org.wso2.carbon.identity.xacml.filter

Thanks !

The above 3 components would be shipped with all our products in future.
There cannot be any dependencies to identity components.

Re: [Dev] [BAM] Problem with Archiving Cassandra Data

2014-02-03 Thread Chamila Wijayarathna
Hi Sinthuja,
In our problem, our main requirement is to delete older data from cassandra
column family to reduce execution time of hive scripts. As we found on
internet [1] hive does not support operations like delete and update.
That's why we thought about archiving data from cassandra. Is there any way
we can do this through hive?

Re: [Dev] Customizing properties of jwt assertion.

2014-02-03 Thread Pushpalanka Jayawardhana
Hi Lakmali,

Thanks a lot for the detailed reply.
I couldn't get the newly declared claim in the JWT assertion.
I will check with the blog [1] steps as well.

[Dev] NPE in OAuth custom handler's validation code

2014-02-03 Thread Bhathiya Jayasekara
Hi IS team,

I was using custom OAuth handler given in here [1]. But when I send a
request with access token, it gives a NPE [2] in *stub.validate(dto) *line of
the handler code. What could be the reason for this? Appreciate some help
to identify the reason.

Re: [Dev] Build Stabilization - Status update

If Jenkins is simpler, I am +1 to move to Jenkins from Bamboo. Also, for
the thin slice to be considered complete, we need to test the
team-wise repo, and
testing pull requests to main repo from team repo.

Re: [Dev] [BAM] Problem with Archiving Cassandra Data

2014-02-03 Thread Sinthuja Ragendran
Hi chamila,

In hive you can't delete the column family, it's not supported in the
cassandra strorage handler.

If your requirement is incrementally processing, then better option would
be using 'Incremental Analysis' feature [1], which was introduced in BAM
2.4.0. This wasn't fully tested with external hadoop node, etc in BAM 2.4.0
and it will be properly tested in the next BAM release 2.4.1. But it was
working well without any issue in the standalone setup in BAM 2.4.0, hence
you could use that feature in IMO for your requirement.

Thanks,
Sinthuja.

[Dev] Clarification needed on reading annotation information from .Java files

2014-02-03 Thread Jayanga Dissanayake
Hi,

I am currently involved in the Development Governance project for C5. One
of my task is to represent services (Axis, Jax rs, Jax ws) in the registry
as a service asset instances and link them to corresponding module assets
via associations.

To do this I am planning to parse the files of modules and classify them
based on the annotations,
i. Create a service (asix2 service), if a services.xml is found
ii. Create a service (jax ws), if @WebService annotation is found
iii. Create a service (jax rs), if @Path annotation is found

Please comment on this approach and suggest if there is any better way.

Thanks.

[Dev] ESB 460 Message processor not deactivated after max-delivery attempts

2014-02-03 Thread Udara Liyanage
Hi,

I have setup the message store and a processor with ActiveMQ broker.

class="org.apache.synapse.message.processors.forward.ScheduledMessageForwardingProcessor"

When I stop the broker,regardless of I setting *max.delivery.attempts=5*,
it keeps on *logging errors* and does not *become deactivate*. I guess this
is not the expected behavior.
