Hi Himasha,

This is not a error but a debug log. The content that is retrieved does not
match the to property which is used as a filter. Debug logs are there
understand the code block that was executed and to inspect the result of
that execution, Which Version of ESB are you using?

Thank you.

Hi Himasha,

Although documentation show XML configurations as follows.

!-- filtering of messages with XPath and regex matches --
   filter source=get-property('To') regex=.*/StockQuote.*

There is a small mistake in synapse configuration(synapse_sample_50.xml
file) resides in ESB_HOME/repository/samples directory.

change the regex in the below line

filter source=get-property('To') regex=./StockQuote.
to
filter source=get-property('To') regex=.*/StockQuote.*

as required * are missing in the regex.

There is a small mistake in synapse configuration(synapse_sample_50.xml
 file) resides in ESB_HOME/repository/samples directory.

change the regex in the below line

 filter source=get-property('To') regex=./StockQuote.
 to
 filter source=get-property('To') regex=.*/StockQuote.*

Re: [Dev] siddhi v2.2.0-SNAPSHOT stop calling callbacks after few seconds

2014-09-29 Thread andresgomez92
Hi Lasantha,

I try the same set of queries without distributed processing.

Now this query work fine:

*- queryB:*'from streamFlow#window.timeBatch( 5 sec ) select max(bytes) as
maxBytes, min(bytes) as minBytes, avg(bytes) as avgBytes, sum(bytes) as
sumBytes, src group by src insert into infoBytes'*

but this query doesn't work:

*- queryA:* 'from flow=streamFlow[bytes250]+,
monitor=streamMonitor[monitor==cpu and value25.00] within 1 select
flow[0].src as src, monitor.value as cpu insert into streamD'*

I try explain you how I am using Siddhi within the TridentTopology. I am
using the Trident State API.

I put siddhiManager inside a Trident State, and I use this Trident State
across my topology, for example:

--- STORM
|- Siddhi ---

-- TridentStream( FLOW )-- Trident State with Siddhi | -
SiddhiStream(streamFlow) [Thread 1]

|
-- TridentStream( MONITOR ) -- Trident State with Siddhi | -
SiddhiStream(streamMonitor) [Thread 2]

I need the distributed processing to make a communication between Thread1
and Thread2 [queryA].

I can have multiple parallelism in the same Trident State to do it scalable.

What do you think?

Thanks,
Andres

[Dev] Getting empty namespace for child OMElements after adding to the parent node

2014-09-29 Thread Sohani Weerasinghe
Hi All,

When I try to create an OMElement by adding child nodes to the parent node,
if there is a declared namespace in the parent node it propagates down to
the child node as well. In other words I am getting an empty namespace
(xmlns=) for child elements as follows.

SOAP Request:

 outer xmlns=http://abc.com;
   inner/
  /outer

Response :

 outer xmlns=http://abc.com;
  inner* xmlns=*/
  /outer

Can someone provide a solution to overcome this issue.

Re: [Dev] Loading super-tenants carbon admin UI theme from registry

2014-09-29 Thread Danushka Fernando
Hi Udara
AFAIK it always refers to registry resource of the particular tenant. When
you restart the server with the changed file it will update the super
tenant registry resource. And it will get copied to tenant when we create
the tenant. So tenant is getting the theme that super tenant had at the
point of tenant creation.

[Dev] ES- Asset publisher to BAM

2014-09-29 Thread Manoj Gunawardena
Hi Devs,

For ES, I am creating a JAGGERY API to publish ES asset events to BAM. The
objective is show asset related statistics in BAM dashboard.

Inside API, uses Data publisher to send events, related to assets.

When an event occurs in ES, which need to gather statistics, the jaggery
code will call the API and publish event details to BAM.

Ex -: Suppose we need to show information of how many downloads per asset.
The asset download JAG page call the publishEvents API.

Please go through the diagrom and share your thoughts.

Thanks

Hi,

I see eventName is being used as meta data and payload data; what are these
properties? If it's same property, you don't need to duplicate it and
rather have it in the single place either as meta data or payload data.

Also what is ES_EVENT in correlation data? Can you explain the properties
of the stream definition you have used here?

Thanks.

If ES_EVENT is not related to any correlation between events, it is better

 Hi Devs,

For ES, I am creating a JAGGERY API to publish ES asset events to BAM.
The objective is show asset related statistics in BAM dashboard.

[Dev] DSS and Jaggery App creation error

2014-09-29 Thread Madusanka Premaratne
Hi all,
I have created three apps on WSO2 app cloud and two of them gave me errors
while creating. But when I log into the app cloud after 2,3 hours, it says
the two apps which gave me errors are still in the creation process as in
the screenshot[1] below.

I tried with a different account and got the same problem while creating
DSS and Jaggery apps.

What could be the reason?
Is it possible to delete these apps.?

Thanks in advance.!!

AFAIK it always refers to registry resource of the particular tenant. When
you restart the server with the changed file it will update the super
tenant registry resource. And it will get copied to tenant when we create
the tenant. So tenant is getting the theme that super tenant had at the
 point of tenant creation.

Its getting loaded from tenant registry AFAIK for both cases. But the issue
with super tenant is its updating the registry entry with file system

When you restart the server with the changed file it will update the super

the tenant. So tenant is getting the theme that super tenant had at the

5.3.0-SNAPSHOT. (AS does not use indexing feature hence does not has

 Unsatisfiedorg.wso2.carbon.registry.indexing

When server is shutting down, services list in

contains 2 services in 5.3.0-SNAPSHOT (RegistryCoreServiceComponent and
IndexingServiceComponent) and in 5.2.1 pack list only one
(RegistryCoreServiceComponent). The NPE occurs when shutting down the
service IndexingServiceComponent in 5.3.0-SNAPSHOT. It seems that the
unsatisfied bundles in earlier version is fixed in later version.

Oh OK... I thought the swallowed NPE was somehow getting logged during a
graceful restart, which is why I referenced the earlier thread. Seems the
JIRA raised by you is for a different issue.

As I debug I could see that in the normal startup this NPE is thrown but
swallowed in 5.2.1. Will debug further and update the thread with the
 findings.

 Hi Nipuni,

Can you also verify if this code segment affects a normal startup as
well (other than a graceful restart)?

i.e. if u start with OSGi console, you can verify if
registry.search.dscomponent service is satisfied or not. Then if you drill
down the unsatisfied component, you will probably be able to find the NPE
in the reasons listed for OSGi service being unsatisfied. I think that
 this
NPE is thrown at normal startup as well, but somehow swallowed up when the
bundle loading happens. I mean that was the case in the issue mentioned in
 the earlier thread.

Re: [Dev] Loading super-tenants carbon admin UI theme from registry

2014-09-29 Thread Danushka Fernando
If you check the super tenant registry resource /_system/
governance/repository/components/org.wso2.carbon.
all-themes/Default/admin/main.css its there and if you update the file
system it will get updated at restart. And If you want to check which one
is used (registry or fs) in a setup with several products (say we have ESB
and AS), change main.css in AS fs and restart and let registry caching get
invalidated in ESB and try to access ESB. You will see the changed themes
there as well. This is due to its reading from registry. This is some thing
I experienced.

[Dev] WSO2 Carbon kernel 4.3.0 Alpha is Released!!!

2014-09-29 Thread Sameera Jayasoma
Hi Folks,

WSO2 Carbon team is pleased announce the alpha release of the Carbon kernel
4.3.0.

WSO2 Carbon redefines middleware by providing an integrated and
componentized middleware platform that adapts to the specific needs of any
enterprise IT project - on premise or in the cloud. 100% open source and
standards-based, WSO2 Carbon enables developers to rapidly orchestrate
business processes, compose applications and develop services using WSO2
Developer Studio and a broad range of business and technical services that
integrate with legacy, packaged and SaaS applications.

WSO2 Carbon kernel, the lean, modular, OSGi-based platform, is the base of
the WSO2 Carbon platform. It is a composable server architecture which
inherits modularity and dynamism from OSGi framework. WSO2 Carbon kernel
can be considered as a framework for server development. All the WSO2
products are composed as a collection reusable components running on this
kernel. These products/components inherits all the core services provided
by Carbon kernel such as Registry/repository, User management, Transports,
Caching, Clustering, Logging, Deployment related features.

Re: [Dev] Loading super-tenants carbon admin UI theme from registry

2014-09-29 Thread Udara Rathnayake
In order to get this from the registry we have to access though
registry/resource/ path. But for super-tenant we get this from
carbon/styles/.
My question is how we can change this behavior. I DONT have any issue with
theme reload here.

When you restart the server with the changed file it will update the super

Finally able to solve this by changing IsCloudDeployment property to true.
Thanks Chintana for pointing this.

After changing this property, now for both tenants and super-tenant all
resources are loading from the registry.

Re: [Dev] Question about securing a service in ESB, providing Integrity

Hi Dushan,

I thought the symmetric key used by client is not a pre shared key because
description says using a symmetric key *derived by client*, which implies
that the key is generated at the time the client needs to send the message
to the server. If the symmetric key is pre shared as you describe, there's
no problem.

Re: [Dev] Question about securing a service in ESB, providing Integrity

2014-09-29 Thread Chamila De Alwis
The symmetric key is shared between the trusted parties using the
asymmetric key. The encryption is done with the recipient’s public key, so
it is not possible for someone in the middle to decrypt the symmetric key
information without the server's private key. The server's private key
should be secure of course, that is a key agreement.

Only when the symmetric key is agreed upon, the payload starts to be
transferred. This sequence can be observed with WireShark (or Charles Proxy
if you want to decrypt the PKI encrypted data) during a SSL handshake.

[Dev] [DEV] [BAM] Use of metaData in stream definition in Thrift

2014-09-29 Thread Chamila De Alwis
Hi,

I'm in the process of writing a data publisher for BAM in Python. I
referred to the already existing example in Java and the blog post by
Suhothayan[1], however I'm not clear on the details of the use of meta and
correlation data.

When it comes to a stream of data in BAM, what is the definition of a
metadata?

I guess its better if this was mentioned in the above diagram so anyone can
understand how this actually provides security. At least it can be
mentioned that there is a handshaking mechanism between client and the
server to share a secret symmetric key, prior to sending any payload
message. (or is this a step that is *implied *and I am so ignorant that I

Re: [Dev] Question about securing a service in ESB, providing Integrity

2014-09-29 Thread Lahiru Chandima
Hi Darshana,

It is correct that nobody else but the server can decrypt the encrypted
symmetric key. But the problem is, if client didn't use a pre shared key,
somebody else in the middle can intercept the message, read the content
(only the symmetric key used for signing is encrypted, not the content),
alter the content, sign it using a different symmetric key, encrypt the
used symmetric key using server's public key and send to server. Server of
cause can decrypt the encrypted symmetric key and verify the signature, but
it has no way to identify whether the original sender is the one who signed
it.

darsha...@wso2.com wrote:

 Hi Lahiru,

When it comes to public key and private key cryptography it is asymmetric
key cryptography. After the client encrypts a symmetric key if it was
intercepted by a third party there is no way to decrypt it without the
servers public key and hence the content cannot be accessed and altered
anyway. I believed this is where the security is provided so that the
integrity of the message is protected. The symmetric key is not shared by a
handshake as I understand by the diagram, it is shared with the message
 protected by asymmetric key cryptography.

agreed parties, so they store symmetric keys in their respective key
stores, and there is almost no chance that intruder can stand in between
and generate new symmetric key because, symmetric key is a agreement
between client and service, even if some one generate new symmetric key
should inform service beforehand (and normally services wont store
symmetric keys randomly unless verified and authenticated).

 Hi All,

Following is the diagram given by ESB about how it provides integrity
for a service. (Securing a service using basic scenario No. 3)

According to the diagram, client uses a generated symmetric key to
sign the message, encrypts the used key using server's public key and
 sends
 along with the message.

But, I cannot understand how this provides integrity. As I see,
someone can intercept the message sent by the client, alter the message,
generate a new symmetric key, sign the altered message using this key,
encrypt the key using server's public key and send along with the message
without a problem. Since the original message is now altered, there's no
 integrity.

Can somebody please explain what I have gotten wrong?

 Thanks

Re: [Dev] [DEV] [BAM] Use of metaData in stream definition in Thrift

Hi Chamila,

please refer the answer in
http://stackoverflow.com/questions/26033755/what-is-meta-data-correlation-data-and-payload-data-in-wso2-cep.
It applies to BAM data publisher attributes as well.

 Hi,

I'm in the process of writing a data publisher for BAM in Python. I

 correlation data.

When it comes to a stream of data in BAM, what is the definition of a
 metadata?
