Hi,

Thank you Manula for prompt reply.

 The easiest way is to send a kill signal (SIGTERM) to the process since

 If not, you can run the Application server as a Linux service (init or
 upstart). Then you can use the Mcollective service plugin to stop the
 service in a cluster.

I think Mcollective approach is better as we have the server starting
requirement as well.

 Hi,

 Currently Malintha and I are in to RD of deployment automation.

 We have a requirement to shutdown a application server temporarily in a
 cluster node.
 For that we are thinking of pushing a configuration from puppet master to
 agent node.

 Can we use puppet kick or mCollective commands to perform this task?
 Is there a better alternative other than using puppet?

 Thanks,

Hi Madhawa,

WSDL Tool feature components updated to axis2 release version recently as I
saw. So until builder machine triggered, artifacts won't be upload to
nexus. So either you may needs to checkout [1]
and build locally untill builder machine triggered.

Re: [Dev] How to save the state of the Invoked Admin service function within

Hi Poshitha,

Please find my comments inline.

 Hi

 I am trying to create a workflow implementation for the SS, RSS
 environment. When a RSS admin
 service function is called by external SOAP request, it first create a
 workflow in database with the information passed and send message to BPS to
 create human task. Once the task in appreoved the same data can be used to
 proceed the action later time.

 Since differect admin sevice for task use differect data structures for
 parameters we will have to have a different table in database for each
 admin service.

 To have a generic approach how can i get the data that was pass to the
 admin services parameter object and save them in a single table.

 IMO, it's always better if we can manage to implement this feature without
introducing new tables to the component as it will make workflow
implementation more generic. But you will needs to change the flow of rss
operations to support it. To make it generic to support workflows
underline database operations API for each database type also needed to be
changed. Currently as a example, add database operation will first make a
entry to meta repository and then create the actual database creation in
specified rss instance. So if we going to use single table, first we needs
to make entry to the database table. So underline add database operation
will need to adjust to support both workflow enable mode and disable mode.
This approach will be clean but it subject to many changes in underline
implementation. Having separate workflow table will be a less complex
approach to do this without touching underline database operations APIs.

 Is there any way to do it in the method body (admin services) pro
 grammatically retrieve datastructures data no matter what the data
 structure type is

 I'm not clear what you going to approach by using this?

 Thanks

Hi Vijitha,

I think there is a specific naming convention for carbon ui framework when
doing ajax calls to a jsp page.

Can you rename your jsp to update_event_sink*_ajaxprocessor*.jsp and see if
it that works?

 Hmm... I think it depends on the app. There would be set of users who
 access both admin console and the app. But there would be another set of
 users who don't use/don't have permission for admin console.

 Think about ES or API Manager store and publisher. They will be deployed

 I am not sure, whether we will head on that way, i.e. Then the login UI

 if we enable SSO for the admin console, it might need to be done across the

[Dev] Deployment policy sample issue

Hi all,

According to the QA plan[1] to test the Transport Receiver Parameters
parameters i write the synapse configurations and check the logs or test
the email account to verify the expected out come. When listing emails i am
facing limitations with following Transport Receiver parameters. Did we
test these case manually before including them to test plan, if yes, it
would be nice to have manual verification steps or inputs on how to verify
below parameters.

   - transport.mail.ActionAfterFailure,transport.mail.MoveAfterFailure

   Problem : How to make a failure while reading the emails to use
this parameter.

   - transport.mail.ProcessInParallel

  Problem : How to identify listener is reading emails in parallel.

   - transport.ConcurrentPollingAllowed

   Problem : How to identify receiver is polling multiple messages
concurrently

   - transport.mail.MaxRetryCount,transport.mail.ReconnectTimeout

   Problem : How to identify receiver is retrying.

[Dev] Deleting web apps when deleting the tenant in App server.

2014-11-26 Thread Shashika Karunatilaka
Hi all,
Currently im in the process of adding tenant deletion to the AS, Some of
the tenant deletion features are implemented in this [1
https://docs.google.com/a/wso2.com/document/d/1FOh6MDqD8Qnuhw7I9JguN8SsDBrmVQNGxG_fghFjVNE/edit],
So to successfully delete a tenant i need to delete the web apps, repos
etc.. associated with that tenant. After some inspection i found that after
deactivation of tenant still the web app can access from the url. So to
delete the web apps associated to deleting tenant, do the same
process(normal web app deletion, undeploy and deleting) as it does to
delete the web apps, is this a correct approach to starts with?

Re: [Dev] Request to commit the patch IDENTITY-2888

2014-11-26 Thread Sameera Jayasoma
Hi Thanuja,

Its okay. Btw, I am seeing small issues in the way we have are logging..

} catch (SQLException e) {
+ log.error(Database error occurred while adding shared
role, e);
throw new UserStoreException(e.getMessage(), e);
} catch (Exception e) {
+   log.error(Error occurred while adding shared role, e);
throw new UserStoreException(e.getMessage(), e);
} finally {
DatabaseUtil.closeAllConnections(dbConnection);

1) Do we really need to log here? Since we are throwing the error to
the calling method, that method can log too. This will cause multiple
levels of logging in the backend.

2) In the log statement, we haven't logged the original error message.

3) In the throw statement, you are not putting the message that your
have in your log statement.

Generally we shouldn't log in every method. Only at the API level or
at the client level.

Thanks,

Sameera.

Hi Kishanthan,

The repo was updated at wso2-dev[1] yesterday. However, the update also had
a dependency on the new amber[2] version which was not available in nexus
yesterday. We had to wait till amber is deployed to the nexus to create the
PR to the wso2 repo[3].

The PR has been merged now and the code is updated.
