[Dev] [ES] Enabling self sign-up for tenant stores

2015-01-06 Thread Ayesha Dissanayaka
Hi,

I am working on $Subject[1].

So far we can only register to carbon.super domain using the SSO login page
in ES. But, it is required to allow user to register via SSO login/register
page to tenant domains as well.

I would appreciate your suggestions on how can I achieve this domain
qualified login and registration.

Is this implemented in other WSO2 products like APIM and how?

[1] https://wso2.org/jira/browse/STORE-571

Thanks!

[Dev] [DEV] Supporting IoT hub architecture via Node implementation

2015-01-06 Thread Geesara Prathap
Hi,

There is a Node server which acts as a hub among devices, clients and WSO2
API Manager.

As of now the Client is able to,

   1. sign up
   2. login
   3. add applications
   4. subscribe to applications
   5. get the access token from API Manager

 through Node server.

When adding an application, client is able to configure how devices are
arranged and that configuration file should be sent to the node server with
a client request. Then Node server reads that file and generates a REST API
with respect to the relevant client.

I did the first part of this implementation. Now a client can do all those
operations which were mentioned above except REST API generation part.
Here is the code repository[1] what I did so far.

[Dev] How to test Carbon tool -DosgiDebugOptions

2015-01-06 Thread Irham Iqbal
Hi

I am writing test cases for carbon tools.
I found the $subject in ./wso2server.sh --help as below.

-DosgiDebugOptions=[options-file]
Start Carbon with OSGi debugging enabled.
Debug options are loaded from the file
repository/conf/etc/osgi-debug.options.

Then i executed the command as below.
./wso2server.sh -DosgiDebugOptions=../repository/conf/etc/osgi-debug.options

This starts same as execute only ./wso2server.sh

Thanks,
Iqbal

[Dev] [EMM] Errors occur on Server Shutdown when building the Product

Hi Folks,

I have been working on writing a test case for the device registration
use-case of EMM with Oracle Support.
When I built the product with the test, every thing ran well with a build
success message except
the server shutdown.

Following is the stack trace of it...

Re: [Dev] [G-Reg 5.0.0] Retrieving data related to governance artifacts

2015-01-06 Thread Sameera Kannangara
Hi Ajith,

Above artifacts treating as content artifacts.

Ok, point taken.

So proper way is , take the resource from the governance artifact then
check the media type from that resource.

Problem is retrieved governance artifact does not contain a reference to
the related registry resource.
Therefore in order to get the media type of the related governance artifact
of given content artifact types,
I have to retrieve registry resource using registry.get(path),
and call resource.getMediaType() on retrieved registry resource.

This results in an additional registry call.
Isn't it, better to have media type parameter with the content artifacts,
like in other generic artifacts?

Thank you,
SameeraK.

 Hi all,

When retrieving governance artifacts of types,

 application/wsdl+xml
 application/x-xsd+xml
 application/policy+xml
 application/vnd.wso2.endpoint

 via governanceUtils.retrieveGovernanceArtifactByPath(),
returned governance artifact does not contain the respective media type.

All generic artifact types other than above four, contain their
 respective media types.

Is this the expected behavior for artifacts of above four media types?

Reason I'm asking this is, when retrieving governance artifacts for
dependency graph generation of impact analysis feature,
media type of the artifact is needed to determine the icon to be
 displayed for the artifact.

Please note that respective media type is available for the registry
resource relevant for the governance artifact.

As we are retrieving governance artifacts to generate the dependency
 graph and
graph generation process needs properties associated with the artifact to
 create the graph,
process have to retrieve registry resource associated with the governance
 artifact to get necessary properties.

Is there a better way to retrieve properties related to a governance
 artifact?

 Thank you,
 SameeraK

[Dev] Error when Building Product-IS from Git repository

2015-01-06 Thread Lasitha Wattaladeniya
Hi team,

I'm trying to build the IS product from Git repository (version
5.1.0-SNAPSHOT). I have checked out carbon kernel tag 4.3.0
[1], Carbon-Identity branch release-4.3.0 [2] and Product-IS [3]. I was
able to build carbon-kernel and carbon-identity but couldn't build
product-is. There's a confusion in versions. I could manually resolve some
errors but it seems time consuming. Anyone knows how to overcome this ?

I guess you are using the wrong service name here. You need to use the

Thanks,

use the property based approach (property carbon.kernel.version). Then
it will make life easier in future releases.

[Dev] [AF][SS] RSSAdminService method 'isDatabaseUserExist' requires the full database username with

2015-01-06 Thread Anuruddha Premalal
Hi,

I'm working on APPFAC-2723 and there is a requirement to check whether a
user is already created in storage server.

In RssAdminService there is a method to check whether a database user
exists.

Issue with this method is, there has a hashed tenant domain value appended
to the username once we create a databaseuser, and it requires the full
name (with the appended value) to check the user existence.

Isn't it the RSSAdmin service responsibility to append the hashed value and
perform the search?.

For now I can use a try catch block in the jaggery layer and handle the
duplicate user creation exception.

AppFactory_Resource_DB has this full user name and perform
isDataBaseuserExist operation. However this method always resurns false
because we haven't passed the appended hashed value with the username.

Shall we remove this isDataBaseUserExist method from the ResourceManger and
use try catch approach to check the user existence?

Regards,

 Hi Denuwanthi,

The ES will first scan for any file fields and put them in the ES

case the wsdl_zip field is not defined in the RXT definition and is a file
 field.

In order to by pass this behaviour you will need to implement a custom
API endpoint and invoke your asset create logic.

 Hi,

In the custom asset extension I'm working on, I have a requirement to
 support file upload.

Thus, in my overridden partial (create_form.hbs) I use
 input type='*file*' name='*wsdl_zip*' id='*wsdl_zip*' /
to get the html view of the file uploader.

Then, in my extension's asset.js inside 'create' method, I try to access
the value taken by that html element by using,

 *options.wsdl_zip*

But, when I actually browse file and log the above value, it prints
'null' and the 'options' json object does not even contain 'wsdl_zip'
 attribute.

If I use a text field instead of using type 'file',

 input type='text' name=wsdl_zip' id='wsdl_zip' /

options.wsdl_zip returns the value I entered in the text field.

So, what could be the reason for not retrieving 'file' type inputs ?
Any other configurations need to be done?

 Thanks,

Hi Shiva,

Are you using a custom update view?

Can you verify if the endpoint you are calling in the update view has the
type information? (According to the error the type is been resolved (empty
string).

The endpoint should be: /apis/assets?type=your type

Thank You,

Re: [Dev] Creating a tool to take thread dumps and analyze thread info

2015-01-06 Thread Buddhi Senarathna
Hi all,
after having a first code review, it has been suggested to do following
changes.

   1. rename the class name according to the purpose
   2. change pid to integer type variable
   3. use enum values provided by the API where its possible
   4. mbeanobject return set, but returns only one object
   5. change methods to use query filter and not
   6. no need to return list in getThreadmxbeanobjects
   7. pass the thread type as a parameter
   8. getallthreadids - pass the bean as a parameter to filter inside the
   method
   9. change parameter name as threadname in the getthreadcount method
   10. rename input parameters in methods to meaningful names
   11. getthreaddump public
   12. overload gethreaddump method/ use this where ever can be used
   13. save the original thread dump, do not append additional info
   14. do not override the dump file with same name, append the time stamp
   15. move file-name to global parameter
   16. close the streams in finnaly block
   17. assign fullthreaddump to null after finish process
   18. getdeadlockthreads public
   19. check for null value in createthreaddumpfile.

now i'm currently working on this.
thanks.

[Dev] [ESB] Refresh Proxy UI after adding new mediator

2015-01-06 Thread Maheeka Jayasuriya
Hi All,

I am developing a new mediator for ESB, ForEach Mediator and have
successfully have it working in an ESB snapshot.

The behavior of the UI is somewhat similar to Iterate Mediator, where at
the time of saving the configurations for the mediator, a target is
automatically added to the ForEach Mediator. However, in this case,
although the target is added, it is not visible in the Design View, until
it is refreshed (by another event like adding/removing another mediator).
How do I fix this to refresh the UI at the time of saving?

Thanks,

However, my response remains unchanged (same as the unmediated response).
I do not know how I can fix this. Is there an error I am making?

 Thanks,

 1) Empty Import-Package header. We need to properly put the list of

 2) Embedding of Rhino dependency. I believe we have a Rhino orbit
bundle. Can we use that instead of embedding Rhino?

 3) Please put version when exporting packages in the Export-Package

 4) Usage of the DynamicImport-Package. We need to check whether we
 need this header.

 When we remove the

snippet from a dashboard index.jag page, the gadgets will not show on the

clear the browser cache and go directly to the dashboard, the same thing
happens. Any idea how to avoid this issue? When we checked with firebug, and
we have found the requests for the gadgets are not generating from the
dashboard app at the 1st load. After a page reload, gadget requests are
generated normally until we clear the browser cache.

 Hi Thiwanka,

We currently only support personalize but not edits through the
dashboard UI. Currently you can only edit in code mode. However supporting
 edits are in our road-map.

Personalize - adding changers to my (current user's) view of the
dashboard. the changes are not reflected in other users dashboards.
Edit - change the dashboard for all users.

 Hi Thiwaka,

If you edit a dashboard in the personalize mode, those changes will be
visible only to that particular user. So even if the admin changes the
dashboard in the personalize mode, those changes will be stored in admin's
user registry and will be visible only for admin, not the other users.

AFAIK dashboard design is a one time task, where edits done after
 publishing cannot be made global.
@ Ruchira, Manu, SameeraM : please correct me if I am wrong.

 Hi Thiwanka,

A dashboard is basically a jaggery app. If you navigate to the
 created dashboard ( at
 UES_HOME/repository/deployment/server/jaggeryapps/your_dashboard ),
 you
will find an *index.jag* file. If you remove the below snippet from
that file, any user will be able to see the dashboard without
authentication if your gadgets doesn't require a logged in user.

 %
 var user = require('/modules/user.js').current();
 if (!user) {
 response.sendRedirect('/vv/login');
 }

project we use WSO2 UES product and customized gadgets on top of it.
 As per
a client request we want to develop some specific dashboards like
 following,

1) Common dashboard -

- View by all the users without authentication.
   - Gadgets to included will be decided by the client team.

2) User dashboards

- Each user can have their own customizable dashboard with
authentication. (to achieve this do we need to automatically
 create
dashboards with unique name such as username, for each user at
 the point of
   registration? )
   - Users will be able to save their preferences with gadgets.

Could we create No.1 type of a common dashboard using UES? If
possible, how to achieve that? Thanks!
