[b2g] Disabling b2g reftests on mozilla-aurora and m-b2g26 m-b2g28 (was Re: Disabling b2g reftests on the minis on trunk)

2014-04-14 Thread Armen Zambrano G.
Hello,
This week we will be disabling a handful of tests on m-b2g26 and m-b2g28
branches so we can fully move to run b2g reftests on the EC2 instances
[1] and disable the old mac minis.

The need to disable tests is due to the lack of lack of resources to
investigate those few tests on release branches. The tests will stay
active for trunk and mozilla-aurora.

This will allow us to be ready to finally get rid of the old mac minis
(talos-r3-fed-XXX and talos-r3-fed64-XXX).

If you have any questions or concerns reach us out through bug 818968.

[1] https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=818968#c106

regards,
Armen

Re: [b2g] Latest Unagi images

2014-04-14 Thread roboterteile
Hello,

is there no other way as to rebuild the FW from scratch?

I did it in August 2013 for my Unagi device (Turkcell Maxplus5) because it was
bricked (- 1.1.0.0-prerelease) but the build system is EOL and a fresh version
for the Unagi would be appreciated (the OTA updates were not working for the
self built FW).

All I need is a newer version than above - where can I download the image?
In case I have to rebuild it again,
- is the Unagi device still supported?
- will the OTA updates working again?

Thanks for help,

I can only wholeheartedly agree with adrian on this.

What i expected from fxos was one thing primarily: a good web browser.

Instead i get this excuse of a firefox that:
* can not be upgraded
* can not be configured
* does not run adblock
* crashes on 80% of all websites

i get weekly updates for marketplace and wikipedia. I couldnt care less.

Re: [b2g] I can no longer access to ZTE Open nightly updates

2014-04-14 Thread nhirata
As far as I understand the OTA servers are meant primarily for Mozilla testing
purposes. These builds are not necessarily stable builds and they were not
intended for people to update their phones officially. I believe that the
official updates should be coming from the vendors as Mozilla cannot legally
distribute the gonk level (drivers, kernel, android sdk level etc).

Also to note, I believe that the browser app is a window using the browser API
to the gecko engine. In order for rendering and such to appear well in the
browser app, the gecko engine itself has to be updated.

The announcement issue is my fault. I should have announced it more broadly
that the inari updates are going to be shut off due to the crashing levels on
1.5/1.4

Naoki

[b2g] Devtools and B2G 1.5.0.

2014-04-14 Thread A. Crespo
Hi there,

Has changed anything to use the App Manager in B2G 1.5.0?

I have enabled Adb + Devtools in the settings.
I have forwarded the local port:
adb forward tcp:6000 localfilesystem:/data/local/debugger-socket
Adb has enough permissions (adb devices show that full_keon is recognized).
I'm using Firefox Nightly.

I am not able to connect the App Manager to 1.5.0 despite It works
following the same steps for B2G 1.2.0.

So I am wondering if anything changed for B2G 1.5.0 to use Devtools.

Best regards.

 alarmdb.js to retrieve them?

Apps are bound by the same-origin policy, just like normal web pages. Which
means you cannot access anything the clock app is doing from another app. If
you really need to get the list of alarms added by the clock app, you'll have
to add Inter-App Communication API support to the clock, get it landed in Gaia
(with a requisite justification of strong enough use cases for this feature)
and then have your app talk to clock over IAC.

Re: [b2g] Can't use mozAlarms API

2014-04-14 Thread Prateek Jadhwani
Thanks Nikhil for the reply. What I am doing is trying to get a list of
alarms in the system app. This is the code that I am using wrapped in a
function.

var request = navigator.mozAlarms.getAll();

request.onsuccess = function () {
  console.log('operation successful:' + this.result.length + 'alarms pending');

  this.result.forEach(function (alarm) {
console.log(alarm.id + ' : ' + alarm.date.toString() + ' : ' +
alarm.respectTimezone);
  });}

request.onerror = function () {
  console.log('operation failed: ' + this.error);}

I will try to make it work with IAC. I never knew about it. Although I
would still love to see an example of how the above code could be modified
to get the list of alarms.

Thanks

If this code is running in the system app, you are getting the list of
alarms added by the system app and not the clock.

I think there seems to be confusion with what Alarms means. The Alarms API
is not for the 'wake me up every morning at 6' alarm the user adds in the
clock, but a set time in the future when the app would like to be woken up
by the system to do some task. So alarms are timers to 'start up me (the
email app) every 30 min so I can sync the user's email'. The Clock app uses
the mozAlarm API to implement the corresponding 'wake up a human' alarm. I
hope this is clear now.

Re: [b2g] Devtools and B2G 1.5.0.

2014-04-14 Thread Walter Chen
It has some slight modification as far as I remembered.
Please try to look into this document a little bit more.
https://developer.mozilla.org/en-US/Firefox_OS/Using_the_App_Manager

I think there is a main point:
Step X - update the prefs.js file with the following line:
echo 'user_pref(devtools.debugger.forbid-certified-apps, false);'  prefs.js

Subject: [b2g] Devtools and B2G 1.5.0.

I am not able to connect the App Manager to 1.5.0 despite It works following
the same steps for B2G 1.2.0.

So I am wondering if anything changed for B2G 1.5.0 to use Devtools.

Best regards.

Re: [b2g] Devtools and B2G 1.5.0.

2014-04-14 Thread J. Ryan Stinnett
The steps Walter posted should only be needed if you want to manipulate
certified apps via the App Manager.

But yes, please look over the wiki page he linked. You may want to try the
ADB Helper addon, so you don't need to explicitly forward from the terminal.

If you are still having issues, check out the troubleshooting steps on that
same wiki page. Let us know in #devtools on IRC or file bug under App
Manager if you're still having trouble.
