Does another app open when the Twitter app closes? I had Calendar opening periodically and killing my long-lived app. Seems the last app to open wins. If not, perhaps the twitter app is using too much memory. Does it take the home screen a while to load after the twitter app dies? That would indicate the app were consuming too much memory.
