Hi everybody,

here is the GDPR (AKA DSGVO) update for OXID eShop. This patch update was
extraordinarily pushed up to give you a proper time frame to establish the GDPR
compliance with OXID eShop. Also, we started
to introduce new principles of code writing. Anyway, this patch update contains
bug fixes as well as loads of merged pull requests <-- thanks for that!

Profihost updates to MySQL 5.7 vs. Bug #6497

2018-02-28 Thread Marco Steinhaeuser
Hi everybody,

Profihost, one of our web hosting partners, is about to update MySQL version to
5.7 - where we determined a gross issue a while ago which is fixed already,
reported here:
https://bugs.oxid-esales.com/view.php?id=6497

We informed Profihost today as well as our support and everybody else who is in
contact with clients. Additionally, we started a pinned forum thread
(announcement, German) providing all necessary
information:
https://forum.oxid-esales.com/t/profihost-hebt-mysql-version-auf-5-7-vs-keine-versandarten-gefunden/93156

Please feel free to add more information to the forum thread, like how to fix
even older OXID eShop versions etc.

Please use this chance to talk to your clients in order to sensitize them for
regular and frequent updates: This (accept of security issues) is exactly the
reason why we offer updates in regular,
projectable time frames and make them as smooth as possible.

Cheers!

Security Bulletin 2018-001 published

2018-02-12 Thread Marco Steinhaeuser
Hi everybody,

we just published Security Bulletin 2018-001: An attacker is able to bring
servers to standstill by calling specially crafted URLs if OXID High
Performance Option is activated and Varnish is used
(denial of service/DoS).

You shall have been informed via e-mail about this issue. Also, we informed in
the latest release notes for OXID eShop 6.0.1 and EE 5.3.7 that a fix for this
security issue is contained.

Kind regards
Marco

Hallo,

http://docs.doctrine-project.org/projects/doctrine-dbal/en/latest/reference/transactions.html#transaction-nesting

"To achieve that, you need to restructure your application logic so as to avoid
nesting transaction blocks. If this is not possible because the nested
transaction blocks are in a third-party API you’re out of luck."

programmieren:
Directly invoking PDO#beginTransaction(), PDO#commit() or PDO#rollBack() or the
corresponding methods on the particular Doctrine\DBAL\Driver\Connection
instance in use bypasses the transparent transaction nesting that is provided
by Doctrine\DBAL\Connection and can therefore corrupt the nesting level,
causing errors with broken transaction boundaries that may be hard to debug.

nothing".

MfG

Robert Blank

->  \OxidEsales\Eshop\Core\DatabaseProvider::getDb()->startTransaction();

Dateien abspeichern muss!

Hi,

in your use-case this may sound strange, but this is by design.
First by OXID eShop design:
We want really _all_ database transactions to be rolled back, if a problem
during e.g. the payment execution occurs.

Then there is the design of the underlying DBAL:
As we us Doctrine DBAL, we cannot provide savepoints or partial rollbacks, as
Doctrine DBAL does not provide this functionality:
http://docs.doctrine-project.org/projects/doctrine-dbal/en/latest/reference/transactions.html#transaction-nesting

You should also not try to bypass this behavior as it will break the nested
transaction handling of Doctrine.
In you case I fear, there is no other way as to store your log data into a file.

Best regards

Hey folks,

you might have heard about the security leak in the PHPMailer library that OXID
eShop is using as well. This information was published by some smart-ass in the
middle of the holiday season on 25th Dec. Of course we took the notification
about it certain as always and investigated. Here are the results:

Fwd: This list moved to another server

2016-08-28 Thread Marco Steinhaeuser
Hey folks,

sorry I have to spam, but this is another trial to get this mailing list
archived into publicly available mailing archives. It turned out that I
had to remove a directive from the header of each e-mail "X-No-Archive:
yes" (set by default with ezmlm) which restrained the publicly available
mailing archives from archiving the e-mails on this list.

Hope it works now and I don't have to bother again with this kind of
operative stuff.

Thanks for your patience!

[oxid-dev-general] Moving this list to another server

2016-08-24 Thread Marco Steinhaeuser
Dear list,

to get rid of the old wiki.oxidforge-Server, we have to move this list
as well. So far we used Mailman as software for the mailing lists which
turned out to be hard to maintain etc. The new software is provided by
our regular web hosting provider and would be ezmlm.

#Archives

We used to archive the mailing list internally with pipermail and
externally with gmane.org. Unfortunately, pipermail stopped working at
some point in November 2012, the gmane project is dead :-(

http://lists.oxidforge.org/pipermail/dev-general/
https://lars.ingebrigtsen.no/2016/07/28/the-end-of-gmane/

Thanks to the seven gods, I found another - still complete and
searchable - archive of this mailing list at
https://www.mail-archive.com/dev-general@lists.oxidforge.org/

#What's next?

In order to keep this archive running (no split necessary), and to keep
the list's mailing address, we created another sub domain
lists.oxidforge.org.

Here, with the help of ezmlm, we will create a new list with the same
name as before: dev-general@lists.oxidforge.org.

All subscribed e-mail addresses will be imported into the new system.

There will be new overview and help pages directly on OXIDforge.org, the
old pages will be redirected to it.

With other words:

*you should not recognize any outage, have to do some change with your
systems nor have to think about a new e-mail address.

*The archive will still be served.

*We can switch off the old server without any hassle

Please let me know if you have any objections or if something doesn't
work for you any more as expected.

Cheers!

Hey folks,

if you run high load scenarios with multiple application servers, this
blog post might be interesting for you, as there will be changes in
session handling in OXID eShop 6.

Until now, we used the regular PHP session handling and optionally,

handler if you want to use a database for session storage anyway:

[oxid-dev-general] New feature on OXIDforge.org: edit specific pages via GitHub

In case you find something strange, missing something or anything else, please

do not try to give me these tasks via Skype, FB messanger or anything else as I
can't keep track on these tasks then.

Also I may need your help: If you want to join the content team (checking daily

[oxid-dev-general] Release of OXID eShop versions 4.10.0 (CE, PE) and 5.3.0 (EE) have to be postponed by one week

2016-06-22 Thread Marco Steinhaeuser
 Hi everybody,

the final release of OXID eShop versions 4.10.0 (CE, PE) and 5.3.0 (EE),
presently in beta state
(http://oxidforge.org/en/oxid-eshop-version-4-10-0-ce-pe-5-3-0-ee.html), has to
be postponed by one week. Instead of 28th June like announced before, we will
publish this release on 5th July due to the following reasons:

* There was a drawback because of the security issue 2016-001
(http://oxidforge.org/en/faq-security-bulletin-2016-001.html) which was
processed with high priority and certainly took some time as you might imagine.
* The integration of some new demo data turned out to be more complex than
expected.
* Some packaged 3rd party modules haven't been compatible to 4.10 yet.

Thanks for understanding!

1.2.1 - 1.3.0

vorliegenden LESS-Files neu kompiliert.

(Beispiele: .btn-warning[disabled]:focus, ; .btn-danger.disabled:focus
Ausserdem

Downloadpackage kompiliert?!

Wie sieht's hier also aus?

Danke und Gruß

Subject: [oxid-dev-general] Missing oxefichecksum and similar fields

Hi,

I've installed an OXID eShop 4.5.8 (PE) in a Vagrant Box (VM). On the
production server, everything is fine.
Backuped files and database, changed the config. The shop works but
throws Exceptions for missing oxefichecksum fields.

I already cleared the Cache, regenerated the views, and do not find any
reference of oxefichecksum in sourcecode at all. However it works if I
add these fields to the tables. But they aren't on the production
server. The file oxefi.php is not present in core folder on both systems.

Any ideas on how to fix this?

Re: [oxid-dev-general] SEO URL

2015-06-19 Thread Marco Steinhaeuser
Hoi,

there are some modules/methods out there in order to force lower case letters
in the URL. Apparently such a module or alteration is running. Switch it off to
get back to the standard camel case URLs.

If you want to have lower case characters only, use or write a module that does
the re-writing properly. The most simple method (without causing DC) is most
likely using the transliteration lists: A = a, etc.

Have a good weekend!

Let me explain you again...

So it is not my encoder that performs strtolower...it the default
behaviour...look at line #262...the ident of the url is generated by performing
an strtolower...and thats why regardless
if you call a url all lower case or capitalized...you get the same ident.
Which calls the same page. and in Eys of Google you can have multiple URLs for
the same page content.

as I mentioned two URL in my previous email, two exact same url only the
difference is lowercase and capitalized case...but getting the ident while
decoding the url, you get the same
ident...which give you same stdurl...and causes two URL but one page

Thats the problem that I am facing

From my point of view and personal experience lowercase urls are better (having
unique lowecased urls everywhere), but you can not extend oxSeoDecoder class,
the best way to strtolower sSeoUrl in

Yes i know.

Anyway nearly all modules use them and break.

I don't have a problem with the removal! But if done, a hint for all module
developers would be nice.

At the moment we are fixing for example the payment modules for the project
we're working on with that.

I just think it should be mentioned somewhere.

Dear all,

thare is a not documented change in version 4.9 / 5.2 as some of you might
haven't noticed yet but they affect MANY older modules:

All getInstance()-methods are removed. They were marked as deprecated since
5.0(?) and now deleted.

@OXID-Core-Team:

It would be very helpfull if you could add this to the Removed features or
the Important information for developers section here.

Hi,

I'd propose to discuss it rather here in this mailing list (maybe better

present here as well. Well, they are already in Freiburg for Commons doing
mostly workshops etc. in this week... But actually I can't see anything wrong

The GitHub tracker is basically intended to cover pull requests and discussions
about them for easy and quick decisions. What you're proposing has to be
decided by the product owner anyway, also the way it will be implemented.

announced:

Subject: [oxid-dev-general] Refining the module system in OXID eShop

Hello everybody,

As you might have noticed, the present patch release contains a few bug fixes
related to the module system. Some more will follow with the next update
release.

For more information about this and some other changes please take a look at:
http://wiki.oxidforge.org/Downloads/4.7.11_5.0.11
http://wiki.oxidforge.org/Downloads/4.8.4_5.1.4
https://bugs.oxid-esales.com/changelog_page.php?version_id=247

We also added a setting that shall be helpful for developers.
The module system contains a feature to disable the module in case it becomes
corrupted. This way, we wanted to protect OXID eShop from crashing if a module
doesn't fit.

However, it would be nice to turn off this feature during the module
development. If you add the config option blDoNotDisableModuleOnError and set
it to true, the corrupted module will not be deactivated and throws and
exception instead.

I added this option to
http://wiki.oxidforge.org/Tutorials/List_of_config_options as well as to these
download pages:
http://wiki.oxidforge.org/Downloads/4.8.2_5.1.2
http://wiki.oxidforge.org/Downloads/4.8.3_5.1.3

Re: [oxid-dev-general] Pros and cons for module-connectors

2014-01-21 Thread Marco Steinhaeuser
Hi everybody,

glad to see this valuable discussion coming up and just talked to Ina (Head of
Development) about it. She asked me to reply on behalf of herself.

yes, some type of dependency management is a must for the OXID module system!

This is exactly what we have in mind - just didn't make a proof of concept for
it yet.
With OXID eShop version 4.8/5.1 we introduced oxonlinemoduleversionnotifier
amongst some new core classes, as well as an online license check. These
functionality shall be improved further in a manner that module versions and
shop versions can be checked as well as the dependencies for it etc.

As I said, we are still in a phase of thinking about the entire concept and am
happy about discussions on it. Also we'd appreciate if somebody would like to
contribute something like a spike solution, a prototype or some written concept.

Cheers!
Marco

Hi,

yes, some type of dependency management is a must for the OXID module system!

As a workaround, we have started a simple module managing dependencies
(smx_module_deps), at the moment you can only add other module ids which your
module depends on, e.g. in metadata.php you can add:

'depends' = array(
'smx_filialabholung'
),
'settings' = array(),

On our todo list are some more features like adding versions, e.g. like so

'depends' = array(
array('id' = 'smx_filialabholung', 'version' = '1.1'),
),
'settings' = array(),

What it does at the moment is simply to make sure that a module can't be
manually disabled if other modules depend on it. We have to extend that so that
the shop also doesn't automatically disable modules if metadata.php has new
extend entries etc.

But ideally, this should really be part of the OXID core

cheers,
Stefan

Am 21.01.2014 09:38, schrieb Joscha Krug | marmalade GmbH:
Hi,

same for me: I also don't like them. If you have dependencies between modules
go for composer or something the like.

Best would be if OXID could come up with an extension in the metadata.php in
which you could tell this module is based on that other module.

Best regards

Joscha

I don’t like such additional connector modules. They have their own bugs and
generating system-wide errors, mostly. Especially when the module has an own
style and/or database tables far from oxid. I had scenarios within a customer
tried to remove a connectors modul and gets a lot of trouble with the system.
But if you want to get rich with support, this could be a model ;)

What about a wrapper script inside every module or inside the vendor structure?
With that you can also check the versions and be agile.

Hi folks,

me and my team are developing a concept for us, how to develop modules
for oxid. We are now at the point where we have to decide to develope a
connector-module for all our coming modules or not.

We know that some agecies use their own connector to integrate their
modules in oxid. And i am pretty unsure if this is the way to go because
oxid provides a standardized way to integrate modules.

Whats your pros and cons for using an own connector?
