Dear Mr. McMillan,
I had similar problems. It seems that you have to do a lot of hacking for
now...

Subject: Problem building docs from CVS
Hi,
Thanks for the suggestions regarding delivery status. I am now trying
to build from CVS and note a couple of problems.
When trying to build a Debian package from it but I get the following
failure:
jade -o doc/alligata/alligata.tex -t tex -d
/usr/lib/sgml/stylesheet/dsssl/docbook/nwalsh/print/docbook.dsl
doc/alligata/alligata.tmp
echo Check `dirname doc/alligata/alligata.xml`/`basename
doc/alligata/alligata`.log for errors
Check doc/alligata/alligata.log for errors
cd `dirname doc/alligata/alligata.xml` && : `basename
doc/alligata/alligata`.tex >/dev/null || true
cd `dirname doc/alligata/alligata.xml` && : `basename
doc/alligata/alligata`.tex >/dev/null || true
cd `dirname doc/alligata/alligata.xml` && : `basename
doc/alligata/alligata`.tex >/dev/null
cd `dirname doc/alligata/alligata.xml` && dvips -q -o `basename
doc/alligata/alligata`.ps `basename doc/alligata/alligata`.dvi
dvips: ! DVI file can't be opened.
make[1]: *** [doc/alligata/alligata.ps] Error 1
make[1]: Leaving directory `/home/andrew/kannel-cvs'
make: *** [build] Error 2
Is there some software I have yet to install on my build machine which
is failing to build the .dvi file used as input to dvips? Or is there
something wrong with the debian/rules file?
I note there is no "Build-Depends: ..." in the control file. I guess
there should probably be one which includes a minimum of "libxml2-dev",
and probably also jade, openjade, tetex-base, tetex-bin, tetex-extra and
texinfo. Should I work it out and submit a patch? Who to?
Regards,
Andrew.
