GNOME Boxes failed to build because of libvirt-client is a BuildRequires,
and this package cannot be installed because of recent netcat changes in
rawhide. Should we work on getting a working GNOME Boxes rebuild as soon as
possible, or can it wait until the next release (which is due in a few
weeks)?

The D compiler ldc is successful rebuild now. The build failed because

If there's a fix in the works I would suggest just waiting, as long as
it's fixed and is being tracked it shouldn't be too much of a problem.
It's the couple of hundred other packages that are long term FTBFS
that really need their maintainers to apply attention :)

Ownership in pkgdb released. Breaks on missing DB 3 support (although it
seems to be patched around, so that the package builds locally with
db4), but I have neither time nor will to try to figure it out. It was
mostly joke to package it, and I don't want to carry it on, if it is

qtcurve-kde4 currently blocked by bug 831958, kde 4.8.90+ api changes,
upstream restored some parts of old api but seems not all, looking on
the issue.

I'm not sure we want to maintain contextkit and libqttracker anymore,
any users? Or someone who would like to take care about it? It's the
leftover after MeeGo fail (but there's still Mer and new stuff built
on top of it).

That sounds like an acceptable temporary solution until ncat

I made a rebuild for freeipa. However, please do check if any other
package was missed as well.

If a build has been submitted for freeipa "since koji changes went
live" (whatever that means) then the scripts wouldn't have submitted
another one. See:

https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/Fedora_18_Mass_Rebuild#Build_Initiation

and:

http://koji.fedoraproject.org/koji/packageinfo?packageID=11554

(looks like freeipa has been built twice since the beginning of July).

It looks like freeipa was not rebuilt and neither appears in failures.
Is there any reason why it wasn't rebuild?

If a build has been submitted for freeipa "since koji changes went

(looks like freeipa has been built twice since the beginning of July).

The second rebuild is what I just did today.

From my reading of the rebuild ticket anything built before 2012-07-09 was
supposed to be rebuild.

These are fixed:
- hydrogen
- lash

This one did not have any problems. Just a plain rebuild "fixed" it:
- clementine

This one seems like a bug in doxygen, rather than a bug in the package:
- slv2 [1]
Apparently doxygen-1.8.1.1 generates a manpage file with a weird filename:
/usr/share/man/man3/_builddir_build_BUILD_slv2-0.6.6_slv2_.3.gz

I also see that the same problem exists in a few other packages, e.g.
sord [2], suil [3]. I imagine there are other ones suffering the same
issue.

Downgrading to doxygen-1.8.0-1.fc18 eliminates the problem. Does
anyone have a solution/workaround for this bug?

Hmmm, it seems to be generating a (new) index file which contains a
reference to the header file and nothing else. Removing prior to the
install step seems to be enough an easy enough fix, but there is
probably a better way that we can send upstream

For what it's worth, I think this change broke GNOME Boxes build:
http://kojipkgs.fedoraproject.org//work/tasks/36/4270036/root.log

DEBUG util.py:257: Error: Package: libvirt-client-0.9.13-1.fc18.i686 (build)
DEBUG util.py:257: Requires: nc

and I indeed get:
$ repoquery --releasever=rawhide --whatprovides nc
No package provides nc

libvirt.spec has:

%package client
# So remote clients can access libvirt over SSH tunnel
# (client invokes 'nc' against the UNIX socket on the server)
Requires: nc

Apple stuff anymore, so I have no need for gtkpod and nor time and
ability to test it.

wyrd/ocaml problem (was: Re: Mass rebuild for Fedora 18 Complete)

2012-07-23 Thread Till Maas
Hi,

can someone tell me what is wrong with wyrd?

build.log says
(http://kojipkgs.fedoraproject.org//work/tasks/8809/4318809/build.log):
| ocaml version is 4.00.0+beta2
| ocaml library path is /usr/lib/ocaml
| configure: error: Wyrd requires OCaml version 3.08 or greater.

The configure scripts uses the following code:

1781 # we extract Ocaml version number and library path
1782 OCAMLVERSION=`$OCAMLC -v | sed -n -e 's|.*version *\(.*\)$|\1|p' `
1783 echo "ocaml version is $OCAMLVERSION"
1784 OCAMLLIB=`$OCAMLC -v | tail -n 1 | cut -f 4 -d " "`
1785 echo "ocaml library path is $OCAMLLIB"
1786
1787
1788 # check for sufficient OCAMLVERSION
1789 OCAMLMAJORVERSION=`echo $OCAMLVERSION | cut -d '.' -f 1`
1790 OCAMLMINORVERSION=`echo $OCAMLVERSION | cut -d '.' -f 2`
1791 if test $OCAMLMAJORVERSION -lt 3 ; then
1792as_fn_error "Wyrd requires OCaml version 3.08 or greater."
"$LINENO" 5
1793 else
1794if test $OCAMLMINORVERSION -lt 8 ; then
1795 as_fn_error "Wyrd requires OCaml version 3.08 or greater."
"$LINENO" 5
1796fi
1797 fi

As far as I can see it should test in line 1791 whether 4 is less than
3, which is not the case and therefore it should not fail.

If you know how to fix this, you are welcome to fix it directly in the
git repo. :-)

Regards
Till

Some followup. I've made a page for removing pyxml:

https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/User:Toshio/Remove_PyXML

dmalcolm added the dep tree. I remember that fedora-business-card is
a false dep from when this came up in February. I'll remove the dep
shortly. Since SOAPpy affects so much stuff I had a look. It seems
like the dep is false there as well. The README says that PyXML is
needed but inspection of the code and the ChangeLog, ReleaseNotes, and
the upstream scm point to that being a documentation bug; PyXML
requirement was supposedly removed in 2003.

Accidental soname bump in libdbi

2012-07-23 Thread Tom Lane
Last night I updated libdbi from 0.8.3 to 0.8.4, without paying much
attention since a tarball diff showed that upstream hadn't done anything
except update the configure script and supporting files. However, this
morning the broken-deps script whinged about it. Looking more closely,
it appears that the new script causes it to build "libdbi.so.1.0.0"
instead of "libdbi.so.0.0.0". Given that the upstream major version
number has not changed, it seems to me this is bogus and the package
should continue to use "0" as the soname major version.

So I'll fix that later today. If you got a broken-deps gripe for one
of the dependent packages, please *do not* rebuild.

So you guys actually agreed to this without this A) being implemented
for all service related packages within one release cycle B) Done after
we have migrated all units thus allowing this to wind up being half
implement and at the same time deny me the request of cleaning up
existing units in the distribution you guys amaze me some might even
come to the conclusion that Red Hat employees get special treatment

I assume that this will get tied to the desktop.target only and all
avahi aware service ( samba/vsftp/nfs etc ) will be fixed and probably
integrated in the process?

Done in libdbi-0.8.4-2, which looks like it's in the rawhide buildroot
now. Sorry again for the wasted effort.

I see it's an LLVM project. I may be able to do something at work to get
it to use CMake and work inside of the LLVM build at least (assuming
upstream is amenable to that[1]) since we're looking at using OpenCL
stuff anyways and we're trying to make sure things work on more than the
2 or 3 machines that have successfully run things so far.

[1]It appears as if that should be the case, seeing as Peter
Collingbourne is one of the developers of the Ninja generator for
CMake[2] and also committed the current build system[3].

Unity these days relies (afaik) on the released upstream version of XI 2.2
and is thus compatible with the server 1.12 we ship in F17.

Intent to retire: axis2c

2012-07-23 Thread Garrett Holmstrom
The axis2c package doesn't build against httpd 2.4, and since it is
effectively subsumed by one of wso2-wsf-cpp's sub-packages, wso2-axis2,
I think it would be better to just retire it. Nothing appears to depend
on that package, but if someone wants to take it for some reason then
please let me know so I can release ownership.
