Self Introduction

2012-10-03 Thread Imre Farkas

Hi,

My name is Imre Farkas and I am working on Aeolus Project in the Red Hat
ENG-Virtualization RD team. Most of my time is spent writing Ruby code
for Aeolus Conductor.

I created my first package, rubygem-simple_from which you can find at

FWIW, we've increased the low speed limit in urlgrabber from
1 to 1000 B/sec. This should fix the most pathological cases.
When speed falls below this limit for 30s, download is aborted
as if it timed out, and next mirror is used. Each timeout also
halves the mirror's estimated speed so it will very likely be
avoided next time.

The timeout value (30s by default) could be adjusted in yum.conf.
Low speed limit is hardcoded, but there's a simple patch to add
it to yum.conf.. could be merged if necessary.

i think it would make sense to make it configureable

this way someone is able to use his maximum bandwidth on large upgrades
and mirrors which as example have a free bandwidth of 8 MB/Sec are
not overloaded and those users wouldn't it make worser on slower ones

 I've been using both forever, FWIW.

[389-devel] Please review (take 2): [389 Project] #453: db2index with -tattrname:type, type fails

2012-10-03 Thread Noriko Hosoi

https://fedorahosted.org/389/attachment/ticket/453/0001-Trac-Ticket-453-db2index-with-tattrname-type-type-fa.patch

Fix Description:
1) db2index and db2index.pl did not handle options with no space
between the option type and the value. This patch properly parses
them.
2) db2index_add_indexed_attr now converts the comma delimited list
of index types into multiple values for the nsIndexType attribute.

No, I meant libgda, it's on the list because he owns the EPEL

I'd prefer to make totally new packages, as these are badly outdated and

[Bug 858586] perl-JSON-Path-0.201 is available

2012-10-03 Thread bugzilla
https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=858586

--- Comment #1 from Mathieu Bridon boche...@fedoraproject.org ---
If anybody is interested...

I tried having a look at building this, but there are a couple of issues:
- the update of JSON::Path has a build requirement on Module::Package::RDF
which is not in Fedora
- Module::Package::RDF has a build requirement on itself
- Module::Package::RDF has a build requirement on Module::Install::DOAP which
is not in Fedora
- Module::Install::DOAP has a build requirement on Module::Package::RDF
(see where this is going?)

They all have many other build requirements on stuff that isn't in Fedora, like
RDF::Trine.

Pierre-Yves had started looking at RDF::Trine some time ago, and it itself
required quite a bunch of packages not in Fedora:
https://github.com/pypingou/perlrdf-spec

I don't have any time right now to package all that stuff I don't really care
about, just so I can update JSON::Path.

I'll come to it eventually, but not soon.

So if someone wants to have fun packaging many Perl modules, please do. :)
