Without any specific error message it's hard to know what precisely is
causing the problem.

Could it be that your certificate is invalid? This has happened in the
past (for example, #1207178 [1]). Try regenerating your certificate with
`fedora-cert -n` and see if that resolves the issue.

Can you ping pkgs.fedoraproject.org ?

I see logins from you, perhaps there's just some slow or difficult

The fedora infrastructure private cloud (and thus copr) is back up and
processing now.

Many thanks to the heroic efforts from Patrick Uiterwijk, along with
openstack neutron maintainers who brought things back up.

Hello,

I own some packages that have been neglected due to my work on other
projects. It would be great to have some co-maintainers to keep
these in good health in Fedora. All are reasonably up-to-date but as
the hadoop package revs (a key dependency), I fear breakdowns in the
not too distant future.

1. So, the proper place to report issues with an infrastructure service
is by filing a ticket here:

https://fedorahosted.org/fedora-infrastructure/newticket

Or you can let us know on IRC in #fedora-admin.

2. I am taking a look at the problem and hopefully it will be
processing again soon.

3. We are working on moving things to a new cloud install that should
be a good deal more reliable.

Thanks,

RE: Lack of response about sponsorship

2013-10-17 Thread مصعب الزعبي
LOL ^_^

I have 7 review requests , 5 of them ready , but no sponsors !!!

Date: Wed, 16 Oct 2013 20:19:11 -0700
From: l...@fedoraproject.org
To: devel@lists.fedoraproject.org
Subject: Lack of response about sponsorship

Hello developers and packagers,

I recently received an email from the reporter[1] from rhbz #913289.

related to the sponsorship. The review was done. One of sponsors
promised to take care of that step

which never came to fruition. It has been more than two months the
original reporter asked if there is a sponsored packager willing to
take over the package.

Considering the reporter is also a entrepreneur who took the time to
port some of upstream packages to Fedora, I am utterly disappointed
by the lack of communication from the sponsors for a simple task.
The fact the reporter vainly tried to ask for sponsorship leaves a
negative impression as if the communication are uninterested to
bring more contributors outside Fedora.

The way to get sponsored seemed harder because not everybody has the
luxury to wait on IRC channel[2]. New contributors have tendency to
use mail list so better clarifications are needed.

I understand each one of us is busy with their life but a simple
message would suffice to let know about the status. Is there a
better way to address this concern to avoid repeating it in the
future?

Hi,

I try to build arched subpackage from main (noarch) package. I can't and have
this message :

Any ideas ??

Ok,
I read that message, but I search for a tweak.

So I'll separate main package into (-core) nonarched, and meta one arched.

Packages have "proxy" word.

2013-10-31 Thread مصعب الزعبي
بسم الله الرّحمن الرّحيم

Hi,

The result of updating Fedora by yum is fail !!

When any package have "proxy" word marked to (install or update) , error
message will appear with http 403 error forbidden.

In my country Syria (maybe others) all URLs have "proxy" word are forbidden and
couldn't open by default way.

In Fedora there are two common packages and have many updates:

libproxy - sssd-proxy .

Can to rename to :

libproxies - sssd-proxies

Or something else.

Then do new rule to write "proxies" instead of proxy, at Fedora packaging
guidlines.

Hi,

Renaming packages it is not user friendly thing because of few reasons:
- there's some documentation/blog posts etc that use these names
- this will break installation scripts
- poeple who use these packages are familiar with these names

What if your country also ban "proxies" word?

You might have some luck with rsync. I *think* there's some tooling out there
to enable a mirror with only your required packages; if not, you can create a
wrapper script for it. Something like --excludes=$("yum list all" - "yum list
installed") might do. [not actual code]

Fedora is a global community, not company, published under free license for
fredom of computers.
Fedora has many many mirrors around the world, nobody can ban it to reach
anywhere.

Also this law is under restudy, Due to War in Syria.
Source forge and many websites that banned them-contents for Syrian IPs, now
these contents are allowed and open for Syria, also Youtube before 3 years we
need proxies to reach it, Now It's open.

I can't show Fedora out of Freedom under any name, or any stuation.

RE: Packages have "proxy" word.

2013-11-02 Thread مصعب الزعبي
First , I ask very important questions:

Is Fedora a global community or not ??
Is Fedora working for Freedom or not ??
I need answers, truly.

Fedora is a global community, not company, published under free license for
fredom of computers.
Fedora has many many mirrors around the world, nobody can ban it to reach
anywhere.

Also this law is under restudy, Due to War in Syria.
Source
forge and many websites that banned them-contents for Syrian IPs, now
these contents are allowed and open for Syria, also Youtube before 3
years we need proxies to reach it, Now It's open.

> Wasn't Syria actually READDED to the list of banned countries due to the
> civil war?

This US racial law only for old goverment , there are more than one goverment
in Syria now.

I can't show Fedora out of Freedom under any name, or any stuation.

Hi , I got a message from my friend a programmer.

And he asked me , Is Fedora have a backdoor !!!

He got a two domains without any control of him and without updates enabled and
controlled by NetworkManager , domains are :

vm3.fedora.ibiblio.org

proxy3.fedoraproject.org

And both directed to https://apps.fedoraproject.org/#FedoraApps

I check my (
lsof -i :443

Thank You for Care .. from everybody for this case ..

I know that talking about Fedora as a backdoor container makes us angry .. But
we must be careful about these sensitive issues.

As a reply :

My friend didn't have enabled auto-update.
He completely Surprised of un-human-authorized connection by fedora.
He disabled these actions by :

sudo echo 127.0.0.1 vm3.fedora.ibiblio.org proxy3.fedoraproject.org
apps.fedoraproject.org 6-55-236-85.rev.customer-net.de >> /etc/hosts

As a Fedora Developers .. We must be Transparents

Even it just a Meta headers , the user approve must be taken. May at Fedora
installation , and a way to stop must be available , too.

These issues must be in control by user .

Debian is apparently switching to plocate as the the default
locate/mlocate provider [0], a bit faster and more disk-efficient.
Would it make sense to do the same in Fedora?

I prepared a package [1, 2]. The code seems nice and clean enough.
I'd be happy to take it through review, but I'm not particular keen
on long-term maintenance…

Enable Android Kernel Modules

Anbox is a productive thing like Wine. So I suggest that we care more about it.

To run Anbox we need to enable 2 modules in Kernel.

They are:

ahmem_linux

So I hope to enable them ASAP.

Two Years of Fedora Releases

2023-06-23 Thread مصعب الزعبي
Dear Fedora development community,

As you know Fedora releases every 6 months for one year of lifetime. This is
good for development and new features implementation.

But it is not good for stability and sustainability.

When upgrading the system every 6 months, alot of resources will be trashed!!
For Fedora users and Fedora itself.

It will be more stable, effective, natural-friendly and feasible if we make
Fedora lifetime as:

- One year between releases.
- Two year of release lifetime.
