mythes-eo package

2019-03-28 Thread Carmen Bianca Bakker
Hello developers,

I have created a `mythes` and `hyphen` package for the Esperanto language.
Unfortunately, I am not a sponsored Fedora developer, and the package
doesn't seem like it'll be accepted unless I become sponsored.

Between all manner of tasks, I do not have the time to pursue becoming
sponsored. But even so I would like the package to enter Fedora. It
likely requires zero maintenance.

Is there someone who would like to take this package from me?

The bug report is:

https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1644268

Many thanks and with kindness,
Carmen

CC-BY-SA-4.0

2018-11-23 Thread Carmen Bianca Bakker
I am currently packaging a program whose README and documentation is
licensed under CC-BY-SA-4.0. However,
 only lists CC-BY-SA as
meaning version 3.0 of that licence.

Is CC-BY-SA-4.0 a "good" licence according to Fedora? How might one
package a program that uses this licence?

Thanks!,
Carmen

Crazy idea: Would it be possible to integrate CentOS into the Fedora
fold? I am not intimately familiar with the relation between CentOS and
Fedora, but I can see two radical(!) changes that would address this
topic:

- Completely absorb CentOS into Fedora. Every nth Fedora release
becomes the equivalent of a CentOS release, and will be supported for
  a long time.

- Keep everything approximately the same, but rename CentOS to "Fedora
  LTS".

I agree otherwise, though. Creating Fedora LTS seems like an effort in
futility when CentOS exists as a close enough approximation.

Best regards,
Carmen

You could possibly argue that rolling releases offer this, but they are
a different beast entirely.

I think you accidentally enabled encryption for your message to the

I believe the recording happens in the same process as the Wayland
compositor.

Self Introduction: Carmen

2018-10-30 Thread Carmen Bianca Bakker
Hi all,

The contribution guide thingamajig told me to post a short message
here. So as follows: I am Carmen from Friesland, The Netherlands. I am
currently working on GNOME to make the GNOME desktop available in
Esperanto. At the current rate, GNOME 3.32 will have its core release
(standard apps, core libraries) completely translated into Esperanto,
which I am fairly proud of :-)

Furthermore, I am a former intern of the Free Software Foundation Europe
where I worked on the REUSE Initiative (;). You
can find me at the FSFE booth at SFScon in Bozen/Bolzano, 16 November.

I am joining this list to make sure that `langpacks-eo` will become
available in Fedora 30. If someone knows some pointers for me there
while I (slowly) work on it, I would greatly appreciate those.

Thanks and with kindness,
Carmen
