Re: Review swap: wlr-sunclock - Show the sun's shadows on earth (for wayland)

2020-08-16 Thread Carson Black
Ello,

The review process is documented on the wiki here:
https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/Package_Review_Process
In short, set the fedora-review flag on the bug to ? when you're
reviewing a package. When you approve a package, change the flag to +.

I'll take this review swap. In return, I'd appreciate it if you
reviewed https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1869128, which is
also a fairly straightforward package using meson.

Thanks,

Re: Fedora 33 Self-Contained Change proposal: Default animated background for Fedora Workstation

2020-06-15 Thread Carson Black
That depends on the format of the animated wallpapers, which I can't
seem to figure out from this thread nor the changes page.

Issues with linkage for a package in rpmbuild

2020-04-17 Thread Carson Black
When updating the 'ikona' package to 1.0, I ran across some linkage
gore relating to dlopen: https://asciinema.org/a/321155

I can only reproduce this within the rpmbuild environment, leading me
to believe this is caused by bad compilation flags coming from macros
or an issue with rpmbuild's faked root shenanigans (I've seen that
compilers can gore heavily when you mess them up).

The following work:
- Building from source with patch [1] outside rpmbuild in a dirty
environment (F32)
- Building from source with patch outside rpmbuild in a clean
environment (F31 chroot)

The following do not work:
- Building from source with patch inside rpmbuild's environment (F32)
- Building from source with patch inside mock inside rpmbuild's
environment (F31 chroot)

The faulty package is located at:
https://src.fedoraproject.org/fork/appadeia/rpms/ikona/tree/cblack/faulty.

Any help or pointers would be much appreciated.

[1] The patch consists of backported changes that I made on master.

Re: peek package

2020-01-01 Thread Carson Black
Peek only relies on ffmpeg for screen recording on non-GNOME desktops
on X11, afaik.

On GNOME, it uses the org.gnome.Shell.Screencast interface which
offloads all of the heavy work to GNOME shell.

Self Introduction: Carson Black

2019-12-16 Thread Carson Black
Greetings y'all.

My name is Carson Black & it's nice to meet y'all.
I'm from Frankfort, Kentucky (and no, I'm not interested in bourbon), and
I'm currently a student at one of the high schools here. I'd be lying if I said
I had
any explicit goals with the Fedora project, as I just do what I feel like doing
when
I feel like doing it. ale li pona. :) However, I'm writing this email because I
recently submitted a
package for review (https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1784230). I've
been doing stuff with
OSS for about over a year now, from doing packaging for openSUSE to abusing
every last facility GTK+ provides
as maintainer of Breeze GTK for KDE. I have experience with a variety of
programming languages, but I'm most
familiar with C/C++, Python, Go, & Vala.

My GPG fingerprint is A133 906C E9F6 6BFD 2F27 7D67 05DF 0193 8FF8 0320.

Looking forward to participating here with y'all.
