Fedora CI testing affected by systemd/selinux issues

2023-11-23 Thread Miroslav Vadkerti
Hi,

There is an ongoing issue with systemd update breaking plenty of tests in
Fedora CI.

We are trying to resolve the issue. You can watch for status updates here:

https://status.testing-farm.io/issues/2023-11-23-public-ranch-systemd-selinux/

It is affecting a lot of installability tests, possible also some
functional tests might be affected:

https://pagure.io/fedora-ci/general/issue/447

Best regards,
/M

Re: Fedora-Rawhide testing blocked in Testing Farm (partially)

2023-06-22 Thread Miroslav Vadkerti
Hi,

A small update, Zuul testing is still blocked, please use the results
`Fedora CI - dist-git test` in the PR testing.

The upstream bug that will need to be fixed to unblock Zuul testing:

https://github.com/rpm-software-management/dnf5/issues/549

Other problems are hopefully resolved.

Best regards,
/M

2022-11-11 Thread Miroslav Vadkerti
Hi all,

https://gitlab.com/testing-farm/infrastructure/-/merge_requests/90/diffs

That would be the reason.
We would never think this would cause so much confusion, our bad :(
As the original issue is gone, we have reverted this workaround and I hope
it is resolved now.

Support for excluding packages enabled in Fedora CI and RHEL 9 CI

2021-08-20 Thread Miroslav Vadkerti
Hi,

Testing Farm Team is glad to announce possibility to test packages with
conflicting RPMs in Fedora CI [1] and RHEL9 CI [2] via the `exclude` option
in the `prepare` step in the TMT test definition [3].

For an example of a test using this see (test excludes maven-openjdk8 from
installation):

Hi Miro,

yeah, this slipped through with the initial review. Was a Zuul
misconfiguration:

https://pagure.io/fedora-zuul-jobs-config/pull-request/129#

Fabien fixed this 3 hours ago.

It should be better on `recheck`.

Trying now ...

Fedora Zuul had been integrated with Testing Farm and TMT

2021-07-21 Thread Miroslav Vadkerti
Dear all,

Today we are gladly announcing that the Zuul CI system for Fedora, which is
running checks for pull requests against src.fedoraproject.org, will also
run Test Management Tool (tmt) based tests via the new `rpm-tmt-test`
check, if they are available. The test environment is the same as with
Fedora CI, as both CI systems use our Testing Farm service as the backend.

For more information about:

* Fedora Zuul: https://fedoraproject.org/w/index.php?title=Zuul-based-ci
* Test Management Tool (tmt): https://docs.fedoraproject.org/en-US/ci/tmt/

This change is opening up doors for the same functionality for the
up-coming CentOS Stream CI, once there are available images for CI, we will
enable the same check also there.

We would like to especially thank Guy Inger (Testing Farm), Fabien Boucher
(Zuul) and Tristan De Cacqueray (Zuul) for contributing to this change.

Best regards,
/M

This is https://pagure.io/fedora-ci/general/issue/161, only know workaround is
to rerun the test (by logging in to the Jenkins instance and hitting the
Rebuild button). Not yet sure why this is happening, I will try to concentrate
on it in next weeks, it is quite random.

I believe you can now configure rpminspect do not run tests which are not
interesting to you. I am looking for a documentation how to do that.

Well, it was decided that we will use Ansible to wrap around our tests. Not
my idea. I agree the results could be presented better though, even if the
runner is Ansbile. We are preparing a dashboard to view the result of
testing, to give a better user experience in the future.

If the pipeline goes through (i.e. tests were run), the pipeline ends up
with Pass (test passed) or Unstable state (tests failed). If the test
failed, the pipeline did not execute the testing. In the former case you
should find logs in the Artifacts tab in Jenkins (test results are prefixed
with PASS_ or FAIL_). If you encounter an error, we are here to help an
investigate.

Yeah, sorry for that, must have been som outage. I agree seeing that is not
very helpful, to somebody
not experienced in the CI pipeline. Also rescheduling anything else as a
pull-request testing is
not easily possible currently :( In the future this should be possible via
fedpkg.

For this time I rescheduled the run:

https://jenkins-continuous-infra.apps.ci.centos.org/blue/organizations/jenkins/fedora-rawhide-build-pipeline/detail/fedora-rawhide-build-pipeline/850/pipeline

Seems it will end up with something more meaningful this time ...

If this is true, shouldn't we be safe to set the default to 2?

Note also, that having suid_dumpable = 0 is sometimes blocking other security
features in Fedora, for example sssd running as non-root by default -
