Any interest in maintaining spyder (python IDE)?
I have been maintaining spyder in Fedora for sometime now. Since the time I took up maintaining spyder, the dependencies have expanded considerably (I have packaged several of these dependencies in the past). Unfortunately, I am not able to devote as much as time as needed to maintain this package (at least in working condition) anymore. I should point out that there are specific version dependencies for certain packages (e.g. ipython) that are not in sync with Fedora. I have relaxed the dependencies in the Fedora package (so that spyder continues to work, albeit with some issues). I did start updating spyder to 5.4.x series. Two more packages need to be packaged. See COPR - https://copr.fedorainfracloud.org/coprs/nonamedotc/spyder/builds/ Is anyone interested in maintaining spyder and potentially its dependencies? Some of these dependencies are being maintained by python-sig already. I will be happy to continue on as co-maintainer and try to help out when I can. Thanks. This is a reminder for the same. Link to update - https://bodhi.fedoraproject.org/updates/FEDORA-EPEL-2016-262a3f39e1 Some notes from [0] are worth repeating here - - libxfce4ui obsoletes libxfcegui4 (plugins using libxfcegui4 were never built for EL-7) - xfce4-pulseaudio-plugin obsoletes xfce4-mixer and xfce4-volumed (xfce4-volumed is not even in the repos) - xfce4-pulseaudio-plugin uses pavucontrol as sound mixer which is unavailable in EL-7 at the moment. Additionally, if you have any xfce plugin installed that is not from EPEL repo, it is likely that the plugin will conflict with newer libraries provided by the update. I like the fact that info about Fedora magazine is posted here. While I knew about Fedora magazine, I do not always remember to check it. It would be very nice if links are also included. It would make it easier to go to specific articles.
