Unretiring & claiming xss-lock

2023-09-27 Thread Jani Juhani Sinervo
Hello.

As per [0], I (FAS: sham1) am planning to unretire and claim the X11
screensaver utility `xss-lock`.

Having been retired for more than 8 weeks on its rawhide branch, due to
having been orphaned, means that a new package review is needed for the
package, which can be found at [1].

Unretiring emacs-lua

2020-11-28 Thread Jani Juhani Sinervo
Hi.

I'm currently in the process of unretiring `emacs-lua' since I was very
surprised to a) see the last version in the repos being from 2015 and b) see
it having been retired.

Relevant package (re-)review:

I just built lua 5.4.0 in Rawhide. As with previous major updates of
lua, the package also includes a copy of the lua 5.3 libraries so that
rawhide does not just become broken reps. If you depend on lua, please
rebuild your packages in rawhide and let me know if you run into any issues.

Thanks,
Tom

I got a build error with vis for this updated lua due to the usage of
deprecated functions. I have, however, already reported it as a bug to
the upstream so all that needs to happen is for it to be fixed.

libdockapp SONAME bump .2 -> 3

2020-06-16 Thread Jani Juhani Sinervo
Hey,

I'm updating libdockapp to version 0.7.3 in Rawhide. The only two
dependencies of this package are `wmacpi`, which I will take care of
rebuilding and fixing, and `wmvolman` which will remain FTBFS until the
maintainer changes it, since the libdockapp upstream has moved the
header files to its own subdirectory of /usr/include.

Hi,

I would like to unretire 'herbstluftwm'[1, 2]. In accordance to the
documented unretirement policy[3], I have submitted a new review
request for the package[4].

I would be happy to swap reviews if it comes to that.

Re: hibernation — does it work for you?

2018-10-03 Thread Jani Juhani Sinervo
Lenovo Z50-70: Hibernating via `systemctl hibernate` does work, as does
resuming. However, after resuming the machine basically becomes non-
functional until the next boot. It loses connection to the Internet (as
in cannot connect anymore) and seems to get stuck when trying to power
off, forcing me to press the power button to power the machine down.

Dell XPS 13 L322X: Everything works just like it should. Hibernating
works. Suspending works. And after resuming everything works like
normal.

Self Introduction: Jani Juhani Sinervo

2018-07-07 Thread Jani Juhani Sinervo
Hi all!

I'm a second-year university computer science student (well, the second
year technically starts this September, but details :P) I've been using
Fedora on and off for a few months now, and felt like it'd be only fair
that I give back to the community that has made my own computing a
breeze.

I just submitted my first contribution to this project, which is a
package for the Vis editor, whose review request is here:

https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1598982

I hope that the co-operation with myself and the project shall be
fuitful!

Best regards,

Jani Sinervo (sham1)
