We want to encourage testers. I would suggest to the original poster: (1) Create a Fedora 18 virtual machine. (2) In the VM, do: yum install fedora-release-rawhide (3) Edit (in the VM) /etc/yum.repos.d/fedora-rawhide.repo and change enabled=0 to enabled=1 in the first section. (4) In the VM: yum update (5) Reboot the VM. (6) Connect to the VM with virt-viewer and run virt-viewer full screen. With any luck you'll now be testing GNOME whatever in Fedora 19! Remember to file bugs. Rich. -- Richard Jones, Virtualization Group, Red Hat http://people.redhat.com/~rjones virt-top is 'top' for virtual machines. (rawhide gets hundreds every single day) - Good at troubleshooting when things go wrong? Rawhide has breakage from time to time. I don't find it to be all that bad these days, but there are times when things break, and you will have to look at what updated, see if downgrading works, and gather information to file bugs. In some cases you may have to work around a bug or problem until it's fixed. - Likes to figure out, or is at least not bothered by interface changes? Since rawhide gets new versions of things, interfaces change. Do you mind looking around your mail program to see where a feature you used has gone, do you mind having to re-learn / figure out new software all the time? One way to try things out is to run rawhide in a vm of some kind. That would get you a feel for the rate of change and issues with the stack of packages you use normally. Good luck, and do report any rawhide issues here or test list or bugzilla. kevin signature.asc Description: PGP signature -- devel mailing list devel@lists.fedoraproject.org https://admin.fedoraproject.org/mailman/listinfo/devel

That makes no sense, creating "an official method" to do something that you shouldn't do. Probably, after an upgrade to Fedora 19, you risk to don't see Gnome 3.7 either. If you want go however, you can read a NOT recommended method to upgrade Fedora ( https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/Upgrading_Fedora_using_yum) or use FedUp. -- Antonio Trande "Fedora Ambassador" "Fedora italian translation group" "Blogger" mail: mailto:sagit...@fedoraproject.org Homepage: http://www.fedora-os.org Sip Address : sip:sagitter AT ekiga.net Jabber :sagitter AT jabber.org GPG Key: D400D6C4 -- devel mailing list devel@lists.fedoraproject.org https://admin.fedoraproject.org/mailman/listinfo/devel

Or at least, wait for Fedora 19 Alpha, which should land in the second half of April. Fedora 19 is even not yet branched from Rawhide.
