Sigh, yes, as noted elsewhere, the soname changed from
libtesseract.so.5.0.0 to libtesseract.so.5 by switching back to
autotools. I'll rebuild the affected packages.

Should be done for real now...

Since it brings along a soname bump, I wasn't planning on building it for
stable releases.

Note that with tesseract-5.0.0-3.fc36 "Switch back to autotools" changes,
soname changed from "libtesseract.so.5.0.0()(64bit)" (in -1.fc36) to
"libtesseract.so.5()(64bit)" .
As the dependent packages were built with -1.fc36, now all dependent
packages again need rebuilding
(especially currently opencv-contrib-0:4.5.4-7.fc36.x86_64 is broken for now).

I was going to rebuild at least opencv, however currently s390x builder seems
unhealthy...

How exactly do you reproduce this problem?

mupdf (mutool) works with the tesseract5 build (tested on F35,

It's reproducible via command line, say

tesseract out image.tif PDF

The CMake build scripts are pretty broken, they omit installing lots
of stuff. I've reverted to autotools, but unfortunately there is some
brokenness with ARM NEON detection which I'm trying to fix up

Should be good now

HEADS UP: Update to tesseract-5.0.0 in rawhide

2021-12-14 Thread Sandro Mani

Hi

I'll be updating to tesseract-5.0.0 in rawhide, I'll be rebuilding the
following packages in the f36-build-side-48784 side-tag:

gimagereader
mupdf
opencv
python-PyMuPDF
R-tesseract
vapoursynth
zathura-pdf-mupdf

I already performed the rebuilds for testing in this copr repo [1].

Thanks
Sandro
